This proves only two things. The Ukrainian campaign against Russian refineries is causing serious damage. Putin has asked Trump to help him out and the US president obliged.

We are about to start an extraordinary run of test cricket around the world. Regardless of the results, we need to celebrate it, watch it and especially go to games if you can. There is an opportunity to show, over the next 12 months that test cricket can grow.

Root was well set there. His dismissal did look as if it may have been a back foot no ball. Difficult to see from the view we have seen.

247 the target for England to go past both 1st innings scores from the oval earlier. The oval pitch can't have been suitable for first class cricket today.

It would appear so. There are a few games that have progressed at pace today.

I am not 100% sure playing cricket in mid September is a great option.

Essex chose to bat today... I am not sure that has 100% worked out for them, but there is still time.

The next round of champo games starts shortly. We need to play a game of which county has provided the best result strip... Verdant green or absolute dust bowl... Pictures please.

A serious democratic society simply cannot allow this. That's £72 million from just two men. (Both, until lately, based overseas). The average UK earner (full-time) would have to work for over 1,800 years to raise that much. It's a nuclear strike on any pretence at the equality of political power

With the 2nd new ball 15 overs away, Archer and Robinson should not be bowling at the moment.

Just to confirm that I have been using H4L bats and saying they are great since before Ollie Robinson was hitting the balls into the Hollies 😂

Listen people. The end of this Champo season is incredible. If there was ever a time to go full evangelical to our friends who don't care about county cricket or cricket in general, this is it. This is what us sad online cricket nerds have trained for.

Turns out Jamie Smith is a rather better keeper than people give him credit for. Cox is doing well, but his takes are not as clean as Smiths standing up.

Today on yes I am old and grumpy I have another take... Too many international cricketers are wearing black, green or other random coloured socks. 🫣😬😂

I would like to confirm that although Ollie Robinson has yet to score a test run with his H4L bats, I absolutely love mine.

It isn't at the Michael Vaughan level of painting, but it is closer to that one than to the Viv or Warne paintings.

Even the crests on the mismatched jumpers are different. Also the whites and creams combo is also grim.

The Anderson and Broad painting at first glance looks great. But on second glance... They are wearing different kit and Broad has been shrunk by 4 inches next to Jimmy. Could actually be a bit of a shocker...😬😬😂😂

Yes, but the Aussie technology is poor. We saw that in the Ashes and in this series. I don't see how that ball was going to hit the stumps. The tracking had it scraping the top of the off stump. If that was me I would be somewhat grumpy. 😂

I don't think there is a batter I want to watch less than Steve Smith, he is the antithesis of classical batting. I know he is one of the all time greats. He also got an absolute shocker this morning!

There's a truth in here, but Farage can't see it. Far from being a kangaroo court, the Parliamentary Standards system is incredibly forgiving. If Farage had put his hands up at the start and said "honest mistake, guv, misunderstood the rules", he'd probably have got away with an apology.

Fielding for 50 overs is grim, fielding for 110 must be ghastly and they still have 4 wickets to take.

The principle is there. I just know the Aussies will find a way to score 400 second time round and bowl out Bangladesh for 130. But they have absolutely shown how England should have gone about the Ashes. As everyone was saying before they started. Except for Rob Key and the Eng management.

Bangladesh have now batted for 110 overs. The Aussies are mostly over 34. This is going to hurt them. This is what England should have been doing in the Ashes. Bat very long, get fielding time into the Aussies. Top performance from the Bangers.

Bangladesh, with each passing session, are making England's ashes performance look worse. If that was possible. *Note I realise that that this post may not age well...
