I finished 11.22.63 by Stephen King last night and my morning has been quite melancholy. Oh and I also started working on a comic script that I hope turns into something 🤞🤞🤞 if you listen to the podcast I write for, you know how much I love certain themes. Don’t want to make an unfulfilled prophecy🤫

Meant to post about this yesterday but this is my most personal episode so far. It’s also pretty heavy, but I think it’s some of my best

Just finished “Madam” by @joeyesposito.bsky.social and @pandamusk.bsky.social … gah, I love comics. This story and art was goated. Freaky and engaging, I am so happy to have backed the kickstarter and have this on my shelf. Will definitely reread during Halloween!!

This is Luke. He has been my cat since I was 9, and he is 14 (or 15) years old. About a week ago, we took him to the vet due to concerns with his jaw. He has an incurable tumor in his mouth. He only has just about a week or so left. I’m devastated and will miss him so much. I want to celebrate him

Read “Criminal Volume 1: Coward” by Ed Brubaker and Sean Phillips. It was so sick. 6 issues, one and done story. Apparently further volumes explore stories of the same cast, and I love that. I had read “Fatale” volume one earlier this year and thought that was amazing too. Great team on those books

I did not expect the Marvel / Big Bang theory crossover to happen in 1981’s Daredevil #178. So early! And with Young Sheldon vs Wilson Fisk, no less!

Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin talks to congressman Cherryh. He says in the first panel, “You have done well, Cherryh. Not surprising, since you were following my instructions.” Cherryh says, “sure. And we could beat the charges, if it wasn’t for that punk kid.”
Kingpin, in the following panel, says “Ah, yes. The young reprobate who seeks to blackmail you with evidence of your connections with organized crime— and with myself, its chief administrator. It’s kingpin. Young Sheldon is but a child, playing at a game better left to adults. A pity he will not live long enough to learn that lesson.” From daredevil #178 by Frank Miller, Klaus Hanson, Glynis Wein, Joe Rosen, edited by Denny O’Neil.

This is the best panel combination I’ve read this whole year. Gosh. From Daredevil #160 by Roger McKenzie, Frank Miller, and Klaus Janson.

Matt Murdock is at a funeral and got broken up with. A character says “Matt, he needs us, foggy!” And foggy says, “easy Becky, im not sure what just happened but I do know my partner, and right now… I think he’d rather be alone…”
The following panel is Matt in his apartment, red carpet reflects the daredevil. He stands posted with his cane, and he thinks, “I hate being alone…”

The new X-Men big bad is a guy called the Creationist. Now, I am not a supervillain. I’ve talked with many of them (Doom is great to sit down with, have a chat), but if I had to guess where the Creationist’s base of operations were, I’d have to assume it’s this. X-Men, I’m just a messenger

The Ark Encounter, located in Kentucky, is a full scale recreation of Noah’s Ark from the book of Genesis. Notable creationist museum

Hundredth movie was tonight. A short film by Conner O’Malley (@thepoduniverse.com‘s recent guest pitch with Branson Reese sent me down a complete rabbit hole of this artist’s work). It just hit how unhinged my “milestones” have been. Can I make it to 150? What tf will next year entail?

Diary milestones:
50th movie of 2025 was 2011’s “the Smurfs” on July 27, 100th movie of 2025 was 2023’s “The Mask”

I’m excited for predator badlands but I gotta be real I’ve been reading some dark horse alien vs predator stories and I kind of don’t enjoy Predator when it’s in the future. Though there is so much potential for genre work with the franchise. I’d love a Wild West Predator movie, for example

Feeling overwhelmed with all of the comics and stuff that I’m reading that I have been reading project Hail Mary for 3 months now. Gonna need to stop reading so much and focus in on a select few things. I love Spider-Man 2099 but that omnibus is so daunting. As is 52. And I love them!

Fun idea and had it been a bit more focused it could’ve easily been the N52’s version of an Ultimate Universe (which is kind of funny, given N52 was also meant to be a jumping on point akin to the Marvel Ultimate Comics line) That’s why I was intrigued by it; it seemed so much more focused at first

Catching up on comics before going to the gym. @peposed.bsky.social ‘s Speed Racer is one y’all need to check out! I grew up loving the movie and the original cartoon. Had a Mach 5 poster in my room. The art and the story feel like a natural progression of all these depictions. Loving it!!

Aimless after watching all those Smurf movies. I feel like I don’t know what to smurfing do. Got asked Smurf questions at dinner last night. Was able to answer all of them but I started mixing up what happened in which movie. They blend together. I guess I’ll watch Tom Green’s Road Trip now

Saw #Smurfs Wow. I’ve seen many movies this year. Probably the most I’ve seen my whole life. This was certainly something I’ve seen in a movie theater. Of all the movies that came out in July, this one was one of them Animation was okay except on Gargamel
