Somehow not everyone is aware of fact alluded to below. So one more time: John Roberts, Brett Kavanaugh, Amy Coney Barrett were all on GWBush 2000 'Florida Recount' team. (Which made GWB first prez in 112 yrs to 'win' after losing popular vote. Now they 'impartially' rule on our future.)

Same. Also Main Street Jukebox in Stroudsburg Pa.
Casablanca brings together Dez Andrés, a Detroit DJ and producer with deep roots in hip-hop and house, and Victor Kiswell, a Parisian record digger with an incredible ear for rare sounds from North Africa and the Middle East.

The project started as a party built around those records. Now they've taken that spirit into the studio, mixing Arabic grooves with Detroit beats, soul, funk, and plenty of unexpected turns. Even the song titles pull you in: "Kifak Detroit?," "Bounce the Casbah," "The Egyptian Stevie Wonder."

This one was gifted to me from a customer who was passing through from Detroit.

This is the kind of thing I love about digging. You pick up a record because it looks interesting, and suddenly you've got a whole new path of music to follow.Main Street Jukebox

It is a rainy Saturday and a perfect day to get lost in some deep grooves.

We are at the shop 10-7, come join us.

This one caught my eye with the cover, but the story behind it made me want to hear it even more.

What use was it to bring the writer and activist Chanel Miller to campus in the spring just for fraternity brothers to scroll, bored, on their phones as she movingly shared her experience as Emily Doe, the victim of Brock Turner? As I wrote at the time, I was floored and dismayed as I sat in the audience with one of my brilliant undergraduates; we heard Miller’s shattering account of being sexually assaulted by Turner behind a dumpster at Stanford University after a fraternity party. Her talk was riveting, and there was so much to learn from it. And yet many of the male students who hailed predominantly from fraternities — 15 percent of each chapter was required to be in attendance — were so tuned out that Miller commented ruefully: “You know, this has been my hardest gig, because they didn’t turn down the house lights. I’m not sure how you professors do it, because it’s so hard looking out at this sea of mildly disgruntled faces. I mean, I’m sure you’re all very moved, but …,” Miller smiled. The implication being, it didn’t seem like it, from her angle.

We live in the dumbest timeline.
A hasty painting of the Senate hearing involving Eric Schmitt, Ethan Harper, and Andrew Ceonzo. All are dressed in Tudor-era garb.

Schmitt is sat in front, painted like a French clown, wearing a blue jacket and white coffee filters round his neck.

Harper is sat in the back left with a pink and red doublet on. His face suggests he may have shat himself.

Ceonza is sat back right with a fur-lined black jacket atop a white blouse. His eyes are on point and those lips won't quit.
