"Viriditas" is a reminder that growth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it arrives slowly, one new leaf at a time, until one day you look around and realize the whole landscape has come alive

0141

"Viriditas" is the vitality that moves through the living world. The force expressed in fresh green leaves, new growth and the quiet renewal of life that can be witnessed throughout nature.

0101

"Viriditas" is a Latin word that became central to the writings of the 12th century philosopher Hildegard of Bingen. While it relates to greenness, she used it to describe something much deeper…

Mother Earth is not merely the place where life begins. She is the ancient mother waiting beneath every ending—ready to receive what has crumbled and create something living from it once more.

Our bodies return to the earth. Our names fade away. Our bones become part of the ancient darkness. And Mother Earth holds us,just as she has held all those who came before us.That is why she was revered—not because she promised immortality.Nothing living escapes her cycles. Nothing lost is truly lost.

Our body remembers that it once arose from dust, water, minerals, blood, and breath. Mother Earth asks us to remember that we belong to her. As her children. Sojourners. We arrive with empty hands. We take shelter, nourishment, beauty, medicine, and breath. Then, one day, we give it all back.

Its National 🌮Taco 🌮 Day 🦊 Meet and Greet 🦊 The modern word "taco" is believed to have started in the silver mines of Mexico. Miners used charges of gunpowder wrapped in paper, which they called "tacos." Their tortillas wrapped around a spicy filling looked like these sticks, and the name stuck.

Before we spend vast sums creating oceans, clean air, and thriving ecosystems on other planets millions of kilometers away, perhaps our most important mission should be to preserve them right here at home. There is no Planet B. Let’s take care of Earth first.

The same tree, stripped bare and then dressed again, teaches us that cycles of loss and renewal aren't tragic. They're how life persists, adapts, and becomes more beautiful.

There's something profound about witnessing the same place transform across seasons. It's a quiet reminder that change isn't something to resist—it's the natural rhythm of growth.

In October many cranes fly overhead on their way to their wintering grounds. Among the experienced birds fly the young ones, making this journey for the first time. They stay with their parents at first, learning the migration route alongside them. An ancient path is passed on to the next generation

Scientists think this protective instinct might stem from their own vulnerability as younger whales. It's a reminder that compassion and courage aren't uniquely human traits. Sometimes the most powerful moments of connection happen in the places we understand the least

What makes this even more striking is that humpbacks are helping animals outside their own species. They're not just blocking predators; they're becoming floating refuges, with seals and other creatures seeking safety against their sides.

Humpback whales are doing something that challenges everything we thought we knew about animal behavior. Researchers have documented these massive creatures actively positioning themselves between hunting orcas and smaller marine animals—creating a protective barrier with their bodies.

Autumn, a season of seeing what was there all along. Not everything hidden is meant to frighten you. Some things are simply waiting for the noise to fall away. Perhaps that is why this season feels so ancient. It teaches you to notice what remains when everything unnecessary begins to fall.

Autumn reveals what summer kept hidden. When the leaves begin to thin and the light changes, the world becomes easier to read.Paths appear where green once concealed them.Old nests become visible in bare branches.Forgotten ruins emerge behind dying brambles. The landscape starts giving up its secrets.

Our love becomes visible in what we cherish: in a small flower we leave undisturbed; in an animal whose life we respect; in a tree beneath which our children, too, may find shade. We need not save the whole world at once. Yet, we can treat life with tenderness wherever it is entrusted to us today.

Every day, the Earth gives us what we need to live, without asking for anything in return. It bears our footsteps, nourishes our bodies and allows flowers to bloom. Those who seek the divine can encounter it in the rustling of leaves, in the gaze of an animal and in every breath that flows within us.

The ocean isn't just somewhere we go on holiday. It gives us oxygen, food, climate regulation, coastlines, and supports an incredible amount of life. There is still time to protect what remains. But we have to care about the things we're losing before they become memories.

The ocean can look endless, but it isn't. What happens on land eventually reaches the sea, and what we take from the ocean can change entire ecosystems. We often don't notice what's disappearing until it's gone.

The ocean is disappearing piece by piece. Vaquitas. Coral reefs. Sharks. Sea turtles. Kelp forests. Mangroves. Seagrass meadows. Whales. Entire ecosystems are being damaged, and species that have existed for millions of years are being pushed towards extinction.
