During Fiona Hill's testimony to Congress on Oct 14, 2019, she described how Trump and Putin discussed exchanging Ukraine for Venezuela. The quid pro quo was if Trump refuses to help Ukraine fight off a Russian invasion, Putin would not help Venezuela (a Russian ally) resist a US takeover.

It’s not about drugs. If it was, Trump wouldn’t have pardoned one of the largest narco traffickers in the world last month. It’s about oil and regime change. And they need a trial now to pretend that it isn’t. Especially to distract from his sinking under Epstein and skyrocketing healthcare costs.

People are out here blaming RCV for Jacob's win. And I cannot stress this enough: RCV had literally nothing to do with it. Everything about this outcome was entirely predictable. Jacob had huge structural advantages: compliant local media, off-cycle election, PAC $, patronage networks.

I like this. Since under RFK Jr, Covid shots are now for people with underlying conditions that put them at risk, Michigan’s chief medical executive Dr. Natasha Bagdasarian states that not having the most recent Covid shot constitutes such an underlying condition. www.michigan.gov/mdhhs/inside...
In her recommendation, Bagdasarian stated,
"Any person over the age of six months without contraindication who has not received a dose of a Food and Drug Administration (FDA)-approved or-authorized 2025-2026 COVID-19 vaccine may be considered to have an underlying condition that puts them at high risk for severe outcomes from COVID-19 and is thus eligible to receive an age-appropriate dose."

We’re all looking for the guy who did this.
A screenshot of today’s New York Times report by Peter Baker. Baker’s lede contrasts the weeks-long “scandal” after a “furor erupted over reports” in 1994 that Hillary Clinton had made $100,000 on an investment 12 years earlier with the $28 million Melania Trump is pocketing from a film deal with Jeff Bezos, which, according to Baker, nobody gave a damn about. I have annotated the screenshot to note that Baker’s reference to Clinton’s profits hyperlinks a front-page 1994 New York Times article, while Baker’s reference to Melania’s profits hyperlinks a Wall Street Journal report, because the NYT did not cover the profits.
