Mostly moths, but then there'll be leafmines and bees and craneflies and..... well, easily distracted by wildlife.

Hi Rob @vc28nature.bsky.social what do you reckon to this one on Wild Service. Its a bit fresher but still empty. This one was 24mm long. Ideally I guess I need a tenanted one to rear, but is this more promising for mespilella? Cheers

A quick look at wild service tree and found this. I did wonder about P.mespilella but its only 15mm. Mespilella is a rear and poss disection though. @vc28nature.bsky.social Hi Rob, is this more likely to be hostis/blancardella or should I keep a close eye out for a fresher mine !? #teammoth

Just found Chrysoethia drurella mines on Goosefoot 😊 new record for Baggeridge. Was sure it was an adult drurella that escaped me earlier this year, so was hoping to find a mine so I was hopefully right about the adult. #teammoth

Spent the evening in a hide in Forest of Dean listening to the Ravens going to bed! Such a range of vocalisation going on with variations of call and response im sure. And then we had a Wild Boar munching away right in front of us 😊

A few days in the Forest of Dean, with moth trap of course. Trip to Severn estuary and a spot of mining. Chrysoethia sexgutella on an Orache sp. Then I overlooked this then noticed on pic later. Tantalisingly a possible early Scrobipalpa nitentella? Follow up trip I feel to look properly! #teammoth

Amongst the LYUs 1st Lunar Underwing of the year, Pale Mottled Willow, and a Rosy Rustic. Two new mines today aswell. Heliozela sericiella and what could be either Bucculatrix bechsteinella or a Paraswammerdamia nebulella on Rowan, need to see what it does when it leaves the mine 😊 #teammoth

OK so missed out on a Striped Hawk but did manage a Vapourer and a White point at home which are rather nice 😊 Then the sole occupant of the baggeridge traps was this noticeably small Clay Triple lines. A good year for them, gone from none for years to several this 🙂 #teammoth

A really good night last night. Starting with a Bordered Straw and a Broad barred White in the bathroom. Highlight of the trap was this Acrobasis tumidana, very few west mids records, apparently 1 record from 2023 and 1 provisional from staffs this year. And a worn small ranunculus ? #teammoth

Interesting moth here says my wife who's collecting potatoes at the allotment, quick dash over, potatoes so you never know, although sure she'd have said rude words had it been DHHM, but Bordered Straw was well worth leaping over the strawberries for 😊 #teammoth

@vc28nature.bsky.social hi Rob, does this look like it could be Chrysoethia drurella mine? Or is it one of the Pegomya? Had what im sure (very brief look before it flew) was adult drurella, realised chenopodium growing in the yard so had a look! I might be seeing what I hope rather than what is! 👍
