At #PAX with my kid. He took immediately to "Super Dungeon Designer" from @squishstudios.bsky.social. Just sat down and was designing a dungeon five seconds later. Didn't want to move on, wanted it as he got home, and he's been designing dungeons all morning.

It's berry season and you have the tiniest friends. These critically endangered babies are Egyptian tortoises that hatched on July 4 and 6, 2026. Currently, our Egyptian tortoises are living behind the scenes in a warm and cozy habitat with lots of attention from their dedicated animal keepers.

The problem with listening to @99pi.org is that you are immediately filled with the need to bring up Billy Possum or Thaddeus Lowe or whatever, and your spouse will only kindly allow this so many times, so you will force your cool fact into conversations that do not need your cool fact.

I love how Catholics get excited about schism in the same way I get excited about rare astronomical events or weird critters at the beach. It's not "how dare they!" but "ooo, heretics, we learned about those in school! Kids, quick, come see this heretic!"

I want to say the fancy $100 wine collection is the best schism merch, but honestly the Protestant Reformation had some pretty great woodcuts and beer steins and commemorative coins and stuff. Today's schism merch came out the day of and not like a century later, though, which is nice.

My phone has a "most called" list on the dialer, and my #1 most called is the grocery store's curbside pickup "I'm here" number, and I'm having a minor crisis about male loneliness about it, but I'm pretty sure it's just that I mostly use text messages.

I've been dabbling with tiny video games since I was a kid, but I've never actually finished one. Until today! I signed up for game jam, found a mechanic that was kind of fun, and then actually actually sat down and finished it! It's little, but it's done! parbroil.itch.io/ships-passing

Once or twice a day, every day, a floppy ear d hound goes by in a little car, head out the window, yelping up a storm. This is a big event in our household, as we race to spot him like a middle aged ice cream truck jingle.

This tweet from the White House Correspondence Dinner is art. She may not have meant it that way, but it is art just the same.
Tweet from "Debra Lee" with a selfie, making duckface, reading "Shooter at WH correspondence dinner. Shooter is dead. Thank you secret service." Thank you hands emoji.

Sad to see the Ides of March becoming commercialised like this. I really feel like we're losing track of the true spirit of the holiday. It's not about how many knives you can stick in a tyrant all at once, it's about the whole community coming together to stab the tyrant as many times as possible.

This new Superman movie is, by far, the best Superman movie. It is Superman at its most comic bookest. It fully embraces all of the stupid comic book stuff that superhero movies have shied away from for being too silly, and it is so much better for it. A+, exactly what I wanted to watch.

CNN doesn't always write the best articles, but this bit is pretty great.
"We should change it back by the way," he said emphatically while promoting his book when discussing North Carolina's Fort Liberty - previously Fort Bragg - on a podcast. "We should change it back. We should change it back. We should change it back because legacy matters. My uncle served at Bragg. I served at Bragg. It breaks a generational link."

Fort Bragg, one of the largest Army bases in the US, was named for Braxton Bragg, a general in the Confederacy and slave owner who lost nearly every battle he was involved in during the Civil War. A naming commission set-up by Congress to study renaming bases noted Bragg is "considered one of the worst generals of the Civil War," and was "widely disliked in the pre-Civil War U.S. Army and within the Confederate Army by peers and subordinates alike."
