my colleague: I have a question me: MC: yk period blood & stem cells? is it true no one has researched it because it is icky? me: OK WELL, Menstrual-blood stromal cells were first found in 2007, but the science way to say "icky" is "research is limited due to gender bias & sociocultural stigma"

I'm officially planning to reread Ender's Game & the sequel novels. Shadow series included of course. & I'm going to try to talk a couple pals into reading at least Ender's Game + Speaker for the Dead, because lemme tell ya, reading Speaker for the Dead the first time was INCREDIBLE to me. Do it.

Withered Hill is basically exactly what I was looking for when I said I wanted to read folk horror.

I'm reading a book, it's pretty good so far, except now everyone in this village is wearing a mask-- the kind that fits across your face with an elastic band around the head. & I just... does no one in this village wear glasses? Those masks are a nightmare with glasses.

OH MY LANDS someone in my work group chat just posted a still from DDLC. Uh, you know the one. Last thing I expected to see in this professional setting of mostly senior citizens. It's not even a gif, as if she typed... things... in the search bar & just clicked something.

Let's research a brain thing. Do you enjoy experiencing something WITH someone, where it's the first time for each of you? Does your brain say that's kinda special? Like you & a friend plan to go see a movie together. Then, before your scheduled watch, your friend watches it without you. Bummed?

Completely forgetting the name of a movie that isn't even old is a word feeling. I don't even have a guess to work from. I think I'll kick myself after I look it up, but meanwhile, what an interesting blank space in my mind.
