If LOISH is being accused of using AI, we are all freaking doomed. She is one of the most prolific artists online and the quality of her work has been known for years. Where do people think AI stole the style from??? Makes my head hurt.

Imagine looking up and watching a star suddenly lose 99% of its light. These stars are a rare type of variable star called an R Coronae Borealis. They suddenly puff out huge clouds of dust, blocking nearly all their light for months before returning to normal.🔭🧪

This is a reminder to never put all your eggs into one basket. As much of a pain as it is, always have backups. Platforms will never be your friend, they are a company, and just like we see with Netflix & other streaming sites, they can pull stuff and change TOS whenever they want.

Commercial art is an inherently risky business - you can hedge your bets with "safe" and "trending", but that's only so you can take those creative big swings that may or may not be a hit. Tapas decided to oversaturate its own market with work little more than a string of tropes, made by sweatshop

I don't think people realize how close I am to getting a kei truck. NC is pretty friendly to them, and I see them a lot. I want one so, so bad. I think my husband is starting to cave. 🫣

Now that the IFPA has crossed the line of banning a trans woman from a women's pinball tournament they're running, because she spoke up for trans equality: what the heck do we do next? I have a lot to say. I'm doing my best to have some sort of hope for pinball. posts.arborelia.net/the-sequel-t...

I am lucky enough to be able to go to markets on weekends to purchase locally raised meats. With everything going on and all these food recalls, you will *not* see me buying meats from any grocery store any time soon...😬

It's such a hit to the gut seeing AI "artists" on social platforms who have massive followings & thousands of people praising their "work." It's part of why I haven't drawn lately. For me, it feels like what's the point? Not to mention webcomic platforms have algoriths promoting AI-made comics.

When you only wanted one book for nostalgia reasons and you ended up with 12. Seriously, these are in pristine condition from the 90s with the original Dic dub names. What the heck am I gonna do with them all. 😂 Thanks, Goodwill? I guess? #SailorMoon

Before there was Toonami there was Scifi channel airing anime movies and Robotech. Who knew what you'd get. Maybe an art film. Maybe a school comedy. Maybe a dude's head exploding in a 20 second blood geyser.

I think folks also underestimate just how culturally sheltered or silo'ed people were before the internet blew up. People who hated anime had of course barely seen any and were just going on sensationalized second-hand impressions. This fell away when more anime slowly got easier and easier to see.

There is 90s anime discourse happening here tonight. I feel like some aren't quite old enough to have experienced being a fan in the 90s. People keep referencing Toonami, but I'm pretty sure Sailor Moon first aired on CN in 1999. There's several years before that where anime was for the weirdos.

I'm loving the 2026 Great Teacher Onizuka series. I love that they didn't remake it, and it's just a continuation of the same story with the same actor who is now in his 50s. Even some of the OG students from 1998 pop up! Absolutely worth the watch if you've seen the 90s show.
