In an effort to bring a little joy to the internet, here is a little dog who had a big party just for him (apparently). Not pictured: Crashing someone else’s breakfast event, and hiding under a table. Hanging out in the kitchens. Surprising people in the bathroom.

Home from GAMA! Met lots of good people, checked out some amazing upcoming games and saw friends and coworkers that I don’t get to see as often as I like. I am glad to be home with this little man though ❤️

🧵 Finally, wrapping up the night was the Indie Night Market which offered the opportunity for designers to sell their games that don’t have the opportunity to be picked up by publishers. You can hear all about this in episode 101 of Cardboard Time!

3 games- Torchlit, Mutation and Tiny Library 2 from the Indie Night Market.

🧵 The big event Friday was the annual Cheese Party hosted by @cardboardtime.bsky.social and @beyondsolitaire.bsky.social. It’s always a fun time, and there was a great turnout! I’m quite proud of my contribution of badge ribbon design, papyrus font is always funny.

🧵 Tournament Arc by @little-creature.com has a clever theme and super cute art. It has some light take that, but in a fun way. I enjoyed the storytelling while making our teams, and that we didn’t find out what our sport was until a couple rounds in. Looking forward to this coming to KS in spring.

🧵 Also on Friday @cardboardtime.bsky.social, Justin and I played a game that @weirdgiraffegames.com has in the works called Pacific Paisley. It’s a cool concept and a super fun game, Arwen goes into more detail on it in her PaxU Wrap up!

🧵 Day 1- I attempted to navigate the expo hall, some aisles were so crowded I didn’t even try. But I picked up some games for friends and spent all my money at Indie Revolution. Highlight of the con was that evening at Big Gay Dinner. Met up with friends and made some new ones!

🧵 After our breakfast adventure we got to the con, settled in our room, got badges, found our friends and went to the Board Game Besties meetup! After dinner I took a lovely nap while everyone else played Blood on the Clocktower.

Time to play catch up! The road to Pax U started with a blizzard and I hated every minute of it. We got in around 12:30 and went to the “largest buffet in the US” and its gift shop. Folks, that place was an adventure.

Well hey there, I’m Aly! I am a photographer, cosplayer, and enjoyer of D&D and other ttrpgs. I also share a lot of board game content because my lovely girlfriend Arwen (@cardboardtime.bsky.social) hosts a great podcast called Cardboard Time! But most importantly, this is our dog Charlie.
