My first group of fosters from work. Shauna Malwae-Tweep is the tabby and she’s still here, ready to schedule her surgery now that she’s hitting weight. Jean-Ralphio and Mona-Lisa Saperstein both hit weight, got fixed and got adopted after attending a budget meeting (very fitting, “money please!”).

Hung out with one of the dogs I named after he went on a field trip. He thinks he’s small enough to sit in laps and give hugs and is a blurry mess in every selfie. I love him.

I like to make a post here every few months to let people know I still exist and mostly just spend my time at work or being sleepy. I took Finkle to work to get his current rabies vaccine and I gave him his FVRCP so that was kind of cool, stabbing my own cat. He didn't like it, but he forgave me.

Yesterday was my Friday at work and I spent time cuddling these four babies during my break. Don’t let the hiss from Thomas fool you – he loved me. Cat overpopulation season is coming. Please consider fostering and/or donating to your local shelters (or my local shelter lol). We are gonna need it.

Artoo used to bring his pom toys to bed, so we’d say “no poms in bed!” and throw it across the room, knowing he’d fetch it and bring it back to bed. I’ve missed those forbidden poms. Last night Washi brought her sparkly orange pom to bed. (It’s her showgirl pom.) My heart is so full.

Hey everyone,

As many of you have heard by now, on the 22nd of July, CGE released their intentions to publish a Harry Potter themed version of Codenames. For those unfamiliar, Harry Potter author JK Rowling has become increasingly transphobic, donating large portions of her royalty checks to lobby for anti-trans legislation to be pushed through the UK. CGE's publishing of Harry Potter Codenames will send more royalty checks her way, therefore funding more attacks on the transgender community.

I have worked with CGE in the past, but stopped working with them a couple of years ago for separate reasons which I will not comment on. With this new development, in my opinion, there is no reason to either purchase or promote their games until such a time that major work is done to rectify this situation.

When I make decisions on who to work with, I definitely consider these factors. Thousands of games are released every year and there's no need to focus my energy on a company that has ignored warnings on the impact that this would have on the queer community, especially when that community is a decided part of the larger board gaming hobby. Making the board gaming community a place where LGBTQ+ people can feel safe is a continual mission of this channel and supporting companies that knowingly support the opposite is not an option for me.

No game is worth harming my community, no matter how I have felt about it in the past. Unfortunately until we have diverse voices in the room that are truly heard, this will be a conversation we will need to continue to have.

Sometimes people can be on the side of Good and also be horrible. Spreading important messages is good, but harassing and targeting and spreading lies about people is bad. Keep that in mind as you amplify their messages because unfortunately you’re amplifying that hatred, too.

New convention record: I didn’t cry at the con! Instead I cried on the drive up (emotions about leaving Finkle for the first time since Artoo passed). I did get misty-eyed in the hall at the con, but again, it was Fink related. I have amazing friends who took good care of him.
