Russia has to be able to refine it and deliver it. Ukraine has been doing a good job of blowing up Russia's refineries, ports and shadow fleet tankers. I wouldn't expect them to stop. There are already widespread fuel shortages in Russia.

Buying Russian diesel will not moderate global diesel prices substantially (for obvious reasons). Also, for example, China and India produce more diesel than Russia. Russia was the one choice where buying the diesel violates our sanctions and undermines our national interests/Ukraine security.

A majority of 57-43 senators voted to impeach Trump the second time including seven Republicans. Mind you, this was even after McConnell wouldn't allow any testimony or evidence. I'm hopeful that enough Republicans who survive the midterms will see the handwriting on the wall.
