I never liked country music. As kids, we always made fun of it and laughed at country singers. Then I saw Loretta Lynn on a late-night talk show when her movie was coming out. Soon after, I saw Dolly Parton too. I’ve loved those ladies and their stories ever since. What an enormous loss for us all.

I thought yesterday was special because my kitten allowed me to pet him for quite awhile, I saw the first robin of the year, and it was nice enough to spend hours outside. Then last night I never fell asleep. Never. Now this day is a stupid waste.

It got up to 50F today so I spent hours outside in shirtsleeves doing spring cleanup. It felt so rejuvenating! I needed that. It’s only fake-you-out spring here, but it gives us the gift of hope. Now I have to stop myself from all the other spring chores. 🍃🧹🌿

I did not feel pain today. For 36 days in a row, I had excruciating pinched nerve pain as soon as I woke up, lasting until mid-afternoon. I missed the holidays with my children and grandies. This is a day to be thankful.

OH MY GOD. I have been calling to get an appointment with my doctor for weeks. Today I finally was thrilled to get a message that I was “in the queue.” Waited for 28 minutes to get a person. Only to be told that the first appointment they can give me for excruciating back pain is MARCH 10th.

Oy. Just found Alfred Hitchcock Presents. An episode with 5-yr-old Billy Mumy going off to the grocery store by himself (!) but doesn’t know his play gun is real. The lesson: be sure you’re careful with your guns because there are too many kids getting shot these days. IN 1961!!!
