Nine Inch Nails' debut single "Down In It" was released on this day in 1989. If you've never seen it, this 1991 "Hard Copy" segment is a hilarious piece of lore about a camera lost during the filming of the music video that resulted in the FBI launching a murder investigation:

The "y" in archaic spellings like "ye olde bookshope" isn't meant to be a "y" as we know it now but the Old English letter "þ" or "thorn" and pronounced "th". This was converted to "y" with the invention of movable type printing but still meant to be pronounced "th" þ survives in Icelandic today
