iirc the accepted theory for the development of eusocial insects specifically is: if you're all sisters, helping each other out DOES pass on your genes, even if you only share some of them. not hard to look at this and extend it to realize that community is a protective strategy as a whole!!

oh absolutely, insects (eusocial especially) are suuuper cool to look at with this in mind. I did a research project once in my undergrad looking at rates of asexual vs sexual reproduction in a species that could *theoretically* have a way to chose between them. lots of cool strategies in nature!!

population genetics is sooooo interesting when you learn this. the idea that evolution is only ever selecting for the better genes is silly- the only ones that matter are the ones that get you to the point you can reproduce. it's why (amongst other reasons) there are more complications as you age

The front cover of GUNSIGHT - Phase 0, illustrated by a young Haruhiko Mikimoto, in 1979. Gunsight served as the bedrock for understanding lore about 0079's universe and Mobile Suit Gundam and was released during Comiket 13. The text served as the basis for canonizing said lore for Gundam Century, was read actively by Studio II and Sunrise staff, praised by Yoshiyuki Tomino and Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, and has become indefinitely rare to acquire.

Scanned and uploaded for the first time in history by Mad Angler Press and Chris de la Bigne, for insight into your future.
