honestly a really fun premiere, especially the first hour. most of these ratings feel pretty cut and dry aside from brady who ... definitely isn't ottning the way eric is, but, eh, nothing else really fits better?

flip flopped a LOT on my contenders but I'm relatively settled in with my top 4 I think? I don't have a lot of extremely strong positive feelings about anyone just yet, but I'm kinda leaning towards a Savu winner just off this premiere. The important players on Taku this vote were Devin & Jelly (both repeatedly wrong), Brady (...I don't see it.), & Patt & Jenna, who despite putting the vote flip into motion (even if Maggod said it first, hello game changers shortlist) didn't feel like they got too much credit for it? It became such a Brady vs Devin result but neither of those guys looked particularly good for it either. Mike & Kilby at least got some establishment but it just doesn't feel substantial yet.

Kristin got a lot of personal establishment with some game, Sharonda got a lot of game establishment with some personal. I wish Kristin would've gotten /anything/ after the negotiation, but even still it was a very solid positive marooning for her. Jenna was the best ratio of quality for quantity from Taku imo. Pantless Patt is a solid identifier to give to someone who wound up subtlely important for the vote, not sure how to take her leaking to Aaliyah at tribal but she diiid get her way with saving Jenna handily... these four are on my radar.

Mike was lowkey but I appreciated his job establishing scene using Kilby to directly contrast & highlight himself. Ana got very little game (though /is/ in Rob's trio (quadrio?? Carter's audio cut after three names for a confessional but visibly had four fingers... maybe I'm paranoid but unless we learn more about that I'm side-eyeing that alliance's odds...)) but a LOT of fun personal content, 2nd confessional of the season, directly commented on the perma uncertainty thing... one to watch.

Ori was also just subtely very positive throughout, and though the helicopter alliance isn't off to a good start they were /soooo/ highlighted that I could see a rebound & some longevity for the lot of them. Jelly similarly is still highish just for helicopter stocks, and that despite everything going directly against her way she was never really thwacked in any way by the edit or other players for it. Not a good /winner/ premiere imo but I can see distance for her.

Rob had a lot of strategic establishment & winners do love a rivalry... BUT.... he didn't get a confessional until like a third of the way through the episode? One of only three to not get Anything until after tribes had formed, w/ Maggie and Cristian. Feels like a smokescreen as a result, buuut other than that I can't exactly knock him too far down.

Kilby & Lewis sharing a decent enough MOR4. Lewis being in the dead middle of my ranks for being on exile seems fun though, sure. I also appreciate Kilby getting to directly acknowledge being in the middle of Taku even if we didn't get much /about/ that from him. Carter.... could arguably be MOR2. his 2nd confessional establishing his trio("") on Savu was pretty great, but there's just not a lot else to draw from here that tells me who Carter /is/ besides Rob's #2, & I have more faith in Sharonda/Kristin/Ori over there anyways.

Brady Devin Eric all got pretty huge showings but all seem primed to get slashed at some point. Maggod Christor was at least the first person to ACTUALLY bring up Aaliyah's name https://i.imgur.com/hvc5NbO.gif , Linnea got to mention her job which is cute but was 100% tell dont show about being social. Established nothing external. Thien An.... Devin's ender. Alexis..... was there. Cristian...... could bring Eric to HR.
