How many nukes are there? Every point of this map represents one of the 12,000+ nuclear warheads in the world today- 1 ever 200 miles or so across the land surface of the Earth. Each could annihilate a city. #HiroshimaDay #NoMoreHiroshimas | Visualise it with this prezi prezi.com/view/e7do1HT...

Why is conflict resolution education important? We find this description really helpful. Listen to Tom Leimdorfer read this section of Quaker Faith and Practice, which he wrote with Sue Bowers in 1990. Read it in full: qfp.quaker.org.uk/passage/24-54/

Conscience Alley is a class activity to engage everyone in ethical thought. 1 person walks between 2 sides of a Dilemma, hearing each person's best reason before deciding. eg. Should Friar Laurence marry Romeo & Juliet? Should schools ban phones? Should Truman drop the bomb? What would you ask?
Under the heading "conscience alley, an illustration shows 2 rows of children facing each other, and another child walking through the gap in between.

"Peer mediation has given everyone a voice in our school." Mrs Shepherd as a headteacher highlights that peace takes time but builds empathy and kindness and a community where everyone is included. She's excited about year 6 mediators taking their skills to secondary schools.

Erinma Bell talks to local peer mediators about being a peace activist in Manchester and reducing gun crime by 92%. "Peace always has a place!🥰

Doug Bourn from UCL and DERC made a powerful case for Global Learning in Parliament today, urging UK policymakers to fulfil the mandate of our international commitments through a 'pedagogy of hope'. Doug shared how peace, human rights, climate education are all interwoven and need to be prioritised.

It's really important to support global learning right now. Amid intensifying armed conflict and polarisation, education must equip future generations to defend human rights and create a culture of peace and nonviolence.
