Just to put things into perspective: we, like almost every other club in the world, have been getting gazumped for players for decades. This is not new, and it certainly is not a uniquely Newcastle problem. It is simply the transfer market.

Fifteen or twenty years ago, a throwaway line in The Chronicle "Emerton on Toon radar" might have filled a few column inches. Now it becomes a month's worth of material for some wanker of a content creator, or for the likes of talkSPORT, because every rumour has to be stretched, recycled and milked to fill hundreds of hours of content and remain relevant to the algorithm.

Then you have people like Romano, whose entire operation appears designed to generate money and leverage for agents, players and clubs. It is a cyclical, self-sustaining and avaricious monster: the constant demand for 24-hour headlines, content creators desperate to remain relevant, grifters taking backhanders to inflate fees or unsettle players, and an audience conditioned to expect a fresh dopamine hit every few hours.

The reactions I have seen on here are testament to all of that. They have been disproportionate, catastrophising and, frankly, quite childish Regulate your emotions. None of this is new. You are allowing yourselves to be whipped into a frenzy by people who profit from your agitation.

Do not let them.

There's a hell of a lot of naval gazing and flouncing going on, both on here and twitter #nufc. Certain relegation etc etc. Losing a player as good as bruno would be a big blow. But selling players at their peak is where we are at currently if we want to grow. And no amount of stadium/ training /1

One of the absolute worst things about VAR (and there are many) is how teams, esp "the top 6", hound the referee after every goal they concede in the hope that the ref asks VAR to look at something in the hope of finding any reason to disallow a goal. #nufc

@davidallengreen.bsky.social at the heart of this is the clash between capitalism and globalism. Capitalism needs globalism to maximise profits. I can't work out why Trump is driving a nationalist agenda yet Musk (and others) require globalism for his businesses to thrive.

I knew having seen Howe's press conference quotes that people would take it the wrong way. He was quoted about the squad being stale and needing new signings and also quoted about the need to sell players but some fans choose to ignore and think Howe doesn't want to sign/ sell anyone 🤦‍♂️
