Like 11 years ago I got married to this dude, right? We had an awesome honeymoon, did a 5k mile road trip around the American West, went to a bunch of parks. We stopped in Vegas and I played on a Dolly Parton 'Jolene' themed slot. So I hit the jackpot, made a pact, and now I have a wife. 😁

My first day of Agriculture 101, my prof/dean lectured that Americans spent 4% of their budget on food. It was an out of date stat from the 80s that R liked to use during ag lobbying. That estimate was updated in 2023 to an average of 20%, with people on the low end of the curve hitting 36%. USDA

AFN Korea, early 1990's. I didn't have PBS access state side, something about the cable in my area. Only got PBS exposure at friends' or school. Until we were stationed on Osan. AFN broadcast an after-school PBS run with Arthur, Reading Rainbow, Magic School Bus... I ran home to catch it all. 😭

Got paranoid 'cause the vet kept saying she could smell The Void was AMAB the minute we walked in the door 'cause, "they have a distinctive smell to their pee" and she KEPT mentioning it. So anyway that's how my new car triggered some weird gender dysmorphia and got his first bath all in one day.

Some advice from when I was working at a private university: Yes, call, email, write letters, etc. now. But most private universities have some big fundraising week or month that is very important to them. That's when to hit them again and keep their lines busy and systems flooded.

Had an incredible pain episode that cut my first workshop retreat short. 🫠 Just now climbing out. Glad to have colleagues who are supportive. Relieved to have my usual group starting back up. Excited to get my new insurance going and get back to therapy for this poor excuse of a spinal column.
