'There Is No Antimimetics Division' is quite an extraordinary book. Sci-Fi and horror blended in a mindbending way. Quite a trip. I listened to the audiobook which was excellently done.

My lamp is quite similar. If I'm working at a desk on a dull morning I just prop it up next to me for an hour and soak it in. Does it work? It could be a placebo but it does seem to blast away the gloom a bit. Your body lacks Vitamin D in winter so it seems sensible to top it up with a cheap pill?

Get your child to go up to her and ask"are you my mummy?" over and over again. That'll make her move. As a library guy it is a bit weird but there's not a lot we can do. Could she be waiting for a child to get out of school or partner with a child?

I would have still liked to have had John Krazinski and Emily Blunt paired up as the Richards and a director with the skill to allow that real husband and wife energy seep into the on screen performance. It might have been fun or an unmitigated disaster.

It bears mentioning that these comparatively modern mini-henges are not emulating more ancient megaliths and symbolic places. They have been placed / dumped there for purely cosmetic and practical reasons. These are here primarily to stop local youths turning this open space into a football pitch

An excellent scattering of mini-henges on an open space in Currie, nr Edinburgh. What will far future archeologists think of them. A place of worship or burial for the long gone tribes that built their dwellings around them?
