Very sorry to hear this news about the formidable Mr Bean and also for not noticing it earlier. Sending sympathies from Cork. Hickey has decided to abandon his regular bed to sleep in a plant pot, squashing a decorative grass that I’ve been trying to cultivate. No moving him, ah well.

Even in rainy Ireland, solar PV is a winner. First full calendar year of having panels and generation (7.7Mwh) comfortably exceeds consumption (7Mwh). Consuming slightly more from April to September as I switched off the gas boiler and used electricity for hot water.

Results from first full year of solar PV in #Cork. Started on 01 Aug 24 and have generated 7.48 MWh, consumed 6.73 MWh. Gas boiler now completely off for summer (April-October) as electricity heats the water.
