iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

In comics international looking for dredd fan art, i got in touch with him, which ultimately led to me having a comics career a few years later. So i love dredd. He is the love of my life. (After my wife).

Its the day of dredd. Heres what dredd means to me; ive loved that grumpy bugger since as long as i can remember. He was my go to sketch on paper long before i had an inkling i could work as a comic artist. Via my much missed mate stewart perkins and his “class of 79” dredd fanzine and an advert

*Thump* the cat “does that sound like food being put out or someone falling dead? Either way it means dinner!”

Yup! Im fascinated in it the way its fascinating to stare at roadkill. You stare at it and think therell be answers. But there are no answers just the absence of life.

Exact same if you look into the reddit aicomics - every comic is a shining bauble of nothing. Lots of deep lore buried under generated art that doesnt know when to stop and breath and people building their world with no idea how to write a story and who probably dont have a story worth telling.

As ive gotten older ive really had to accept theres a low level paranoia with me in almost every interraction. I try to counter it by being wildly optimistic and ethusiastic. But that brings it’s own problems.

Is the solution a big brown bag they can put over their heads that says “pervert” in thick black marker?

Oh im an arsehole. (I was i think trying to say my brain is a liar who lies to me)

Theres a lot of people ive known for decades who i rarely see but of whom i always think fondly and i imagine they think, in turn, that im an arse. I hope not. But thats my brain for you.

well, I'm being a bit absurd, but he sounds working class and I assumed he was, and that was a little bit heroic to fight your way through that system to get on tv, but it turns out that no, he's part of the long history of UK light entertainment establishment (he's still funny & seems a good bloke)

Finding out george Fouracres was a member of cambridge footlights is a real stab in the heart.

My little brother was obsessed with all animals and in particular “crocodilians” a term i first heard from him (he may have been older than 5-but not much)

Me my wife and our two kids (aged 18 and 21) all sat down and watched traitors. It wasnt the plan it just sort of happened and its beeb years since the kids have watched tv and then it was very very good episode. Not sure the kids will do it again but it was great last night.

Torn between constantly wanting to make things and show then to people and talking to them to become part of the community and constantly wanting to live in a small hole in the ground with a trapdoor i can close if anyone comes near me.
