Watched Captain Marvel last night with my son, as he prepares for watching Endgame at the cinema today. I loved it at the cinema and I still love it now. One of my favourite Marvel films. A superb 90s nostalgia trip with Brie Larson and Samuel L Jackson. 😍

My photo shows a very tall, slender, conical gold object known as the Berlin Gold Hat, displayed against a dark museum background. At the top end, the tall slender cone narrows to a pointy tip.
At the bottom it widens into a rounded base with a broad flat brim. It is made of very thin hammered sheet gold, the entire surface of which is embossed with horizontal bands of decoration. Repeated motifs of concentric circles, disks, ovals, and other symbols, are thought to represent the sun and moon. According to latest research this may represent solar and lunar calendars. It is dated to the late Bronze Age, c. 1000-800 BC. It is 74 cm tall and weighs 480 gms. On display at Neues Museum, Berlin. It is one of only four known golden ‘hats’ from ancient Europe. Three from Germany and one from France.

Watching Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It’s one of my favourite of the Marvel films. I think the reason it works so well for me is because it's a well written spy/espionage film first and an MCU film second.

My photo shows an Attic terracotta red-figure drinking cup. The lower part of the cup is in the shape of a cow's hoof coloured orangey-red with faint vertical black brush strokes. There is a wider black line down the front of the hoof which may represent a cow’s cloven hoof The upper part of the cup is cylindrical with a single black handle and outsplayed rim. It is painted with a detailed landscape scene depicting a seated herdsman, with two cows, a dog and a hare. The figures are orangey-red against a black sip background. My photo shows the side of the cup depicting the herdsman and one of the cows. The herdsman wears shoes, a cap, and a cloak of fur or hide. Height of cup 10.3 cm. The cup is attributed to a painter recalling the Brygos Painter
circa 470–460 BC.
