A scanned clipping of a published letter to the editor in The Yorkshire Post on Thursday, October 8, 2026, headlined by Peter Packham, Chair, Leeds for Europe, Roundhay, Leeds. The letter discusses the Prime Minister's admission that Brexit has done the UK "more harm than good" as a watershed moment. With the government acknowledging lost control over the economy and immigration, it argues a unique window of opportunity is open to rethink our European relationship. It urges passive supporters to step off the sidelines and join the European Movement UK (europeanmovement.co.uk), noting that membership automatically enrols individuals in their local grassroots branch, such as Leeds for Europe.

Diesel production in Russia is almost entirely for domestic use, so its loss has no impact on US diesel prices. Oil prices sent skyrocketing by Trump's illegal war on Iran certainly do affect US diesel prices. Trump is trying to scapegoat Ukraine for his own failure. Trump can go to hell!
