Forty-two shillings? Preposterous! #FoylesBookClub @foylesforbooks.bsky.social
Close-up of a cream-coloured printed page with blue text announcing an increase in Foyles Book Club prices due to the Selective Employment Tax and higher postal charges. Selections now cost 6 shillings plus 1 shilling postage, with advance subscriptions of 42 shillings for six months or 84 shillings for twelve months. The notice concludes by promising “unbeatable value” and a forthcoming programme of first-class titles.

I cannot easily explain how this 200 metre stretch of road sends my every nerve on edge, my knuckles white, and my teeth ground tight. It's a nightmare.
An outdoor street market fills a residential road lined with red-brick buildings. Colourful gazebos and stalls run along both sides beneath strings of bunting, while crowds browse between them. In the foreground, shoppers gather around craft stalls, with a child in a pushchair and a golden-coloured dog among the crowd. The sky is pale blue and overcast.

Panorama. Hot air balloons, landscapes, flora and fauna. Choose a tile, place it left or right of your balloon, move the sun clockwise to the next balloon, and repeat. Objectives score 10 pts, while landscapes score animal X plant within a continuous area. Nice quick game. @allrolledup.bsky.social

Honestly, 2026 can not be over soon enough. I have become the bitch to a constant sense of overwhelm and anxiety. Every time I feel like the next turn will be for the better, it bites me. The picture might be from 2025, but it sums up how I feel about '26. Hang in there with me, please 😐

Cypher system from @montecookgames.com showed me both how simple a mechanic could be, while remaining conceptually so complex in play. The Black Hack served up a concise game system for a familiar style of game that showed me what an amateur could do—leading to Cthulhu Hack, Dee Sanction and more.

In the Midst of Shades is a game about Victorian ghost hunters. No one else believes in ghosts. But, you can see them and know they're a threat. Trouble is, the ghosts know you're a threat, too. #Sanction www.drivethrurpg.com/en/product/4...
Black-and-white illustrated cover for In the Midst of Shades: A Genre Setup for SANCTION. Three Victorian-era figures occupy a shadowy staircase: a stern woman standing above, a bearded man holding a heavy cane-like weapon, and a sinister figure in a tall hat and goggles in the foreground.

Fascinating when you recognize an obscure book on the shelf in a TV series. I just saw a copy of Codex Seraphinianus on a character's book shelf in Series 2 of Dark Matter. #DarkMatter (this is my copy on my shelf, in 2021)
Close-up of a wooden bookshelf packed with books on folklore, Elizabethan history and roleplaying games. Visible titles include Secrets of the Crucible, This Hollow Land, Suffolk, The Elder Gods, Walsingham, The Sultan and the Queen, Sex in Elizabethan England, The European Reformation 1500–1610, and The Cult of Elizabeth. I don't know what I've found the time to work on this afternoon. #CörkBørd
Mock Swedish newspaper page headed “Kriminalitet”, with the large headline “Tre döda i pakt om ömsesidig förintelse” (“Three dead in pact of mutual destruction”). The article reports that two men and a woman were found dead in a suite at a central Stockholm hotel, with police investigating a possible agreed joint death and no known prior connection between the victims. A large black-and-white photograph of a multi-storey hotel building fills the lower right of the page.

The image is of a four panel comic.
In panel one, we see a man sitting at a restaurant table. He is sweating. He says "Y-you have beautiful eyes".
The second panel zooms in on the man's face. He says, "I'm sorry. I'm just so nervous."
In panel three we see that a biblically accurate angel is sitting on the other side of the table.
In panel four we zoom in on the angel's face, who says "BE NOT AFRAID".
