Just finished a trip from Brisbane to Sunshine Coast Took a cab from our hotel to the Bowen Hills station, then train and bus - about three hours transit time Excluding cab, total cost? 50¢ (AUD) In a few days we’re going to head from here down to Gold Coast Anticipated total cost? Yup 50¢

Turns out that once you get away from the stroad-y parts, #Brisbane is a pretty nice city But man, oh man, drivers here show nearly zero awareness of pedestrians All-in-all, my impression is that it’s a very car-centric place I think the city is trying to change that, and I wish them well

Really not sure how improvements will ever come to this city as long as the same clowns keep running the circus We could elect a Khan, Mamdani or Hidalgo and there’d still be an intractable group that would scuttle any initiatives that might improve the city in ways beyond building more roads

What is it with drivers parking on sidewalks? Walking along Cooper and there’s a car from Florida pulled right up on the sidewalks-completely blocking the way I tapped his driver’s window … “why are you parked on the sidewalk?” Angrily: “I’m lost” Ohhhh … so *that’s* what makes it OK (Florida)
