The reported offer to him will also continue a long list of bad financial managerial decisions by the club leadership. Instead I would recommend we ask Ryan Mason and Ben Davies to take over for the rest of the season and use their knowledge of the club to inspire players to keep us up. 2/3

As a supporter of @TottenhamHotspur.com for the last 15+ years, I desperately hope they do not hire Roberto De Zerbi. He has a history of supporting the character of players credibly accused of sexual abuse. Spurs need all the good vibes we can get now and De Zerbi isn’t going to bring that. 1/3

She knew what was coming while we were delusional. FFS! We really are going to go down and if we go we’ll lose a lot of the players (good riddance to many of them). So depressing.

No Ritchy is a bad sign. God we need this one.

And in our urban neighborhood, the contracted plow drivers push the snow into the corners of the intersections, reblocking the curb ramps that I’ve already cleared or making it that much more difficult to clear them so pedestrians can cross the street.

I heard from a friend at TRB that it’s more like 30-40% down, but that was an estimate.

Between the demolition of multiple committees and the immigration situation, 25% seems like a reasonable guess. I might go down one night to see friends but I won’t be attending any sessions or meetings.

I’d be good with an FA Cup win and 7th, but not 17th (unless it was with a new manager where we saw dramatic improvement and a clear, attacking path forward.

There’s so much good coverage of women’s soccer and the Spirit, but @xowngoals.com has done the best explanation of why the League’s proposed rule sucks and I’m glad the @nwslplayers.bsky.social is fighting it. Pay Trin and let all the teams pay their players more in the way that’s best for them.

110

Patrick McMahon @patrick-mcmahon.bsky.social · 24/12/2025

Teams like the @washingtonspirit.com should be allowed to decide who they want to pay and how much, not just be allowed to pick one of the 29 NWSL players that meet the new criteria. I want the Spirit to be able to pay #TrinityRodman what she’s worth, but in the right way.

110

Patrick McMahon @patrick-mcmahon.bsky.social · 24/12/2025

Really disappointed that the @nwslsoccer.com can’t get out of their own way and have the #RodmanRule be an increase in the @nwslbot.bsky.social salary cap instead of making up a stupid, bureaucratic, and subjective limit on the number of players who can get paid more.

Impressive best 11, but it’s hard to not see any Spirits on there.

Watching the video of his touches I was struck by how many times he passes and then just stops his movement ball watched rather than getting into an optimal position. Worst was at 5:23 when he could have moved into the box to give Udogie an outlet instead of shooting from a right angle.

7/10 for quality of signings 4/10 for the timing and challenges it creates for development of younger players I would have preferred that we don’t sign Tel if we were going to sign RKM and to instead bring in a better passing #6 (for games where we will have more of the ball)

I’m really hoping that these rumors are from agents trying to get interest in their clients and not real ITK. I’d prefer quiet, behind the scenes negotiations for good, undervalued players that actually meet our needs, not just jumping on the bandwagon of who’s in the news.

Lacking rumors (which aren’t worth much) I have to hope that Lange and his team are moving to bring in the #10 we need, whether it’s Eze or someone else. While the right time would have been anytime before now, announcing a signing today would boost spirits, even if it won’t help us against PSG.

I usually try to follow Hanlon’s razor and assume ignorance or incompetence instead of malice, but this framing of Trump’s behavior makes a lot of sense when observing what is happening in LA and his dismantaling of American institutions. 4/4
