Is there going to be any problem with dialysis today? I'm assuming all hospitals & clinics have power. Or can it be skipped until Tues?

My favorite dad moment: Dad, what's a control freak? It's what lazy slipshod people call anyone who cares enough to do things right. Am I in the presence of their leader? Should I bow? If anything works in this world, it's thanks to one of us.

I should watch that someday. I've only ever seen the American remake (To Wong-fu). Wesley Snipes, Patrick Swayze and John Leguizamo were amazing choices for the stars.

It doesn't look that far on the map. Now I'm going to have to measure it. *grin* Houston is so big that it touches the coast and I'm 60 miles inland (145' elevation, just to mention it), so I have bad ideas about how big smaller cities are.

Yes, it's a social history of outhouses, and his observations are wonderfully homey.

I love Leon Hale, a Texas columnist who drove around since the 40s & wrote about whatever caught his fancy, and I was surprised to learn he had a book I hadn't known about. Well, he only wrote the text, a well known artist sketched the actual outhouses.

"Viney growth has taken over the walkway here, indicating this Boerne facility has been superceded by indoor plumbing or the building site abandoned. The barbwire fence in the background suggests a location at the edge of town."

"Initials adorn the face of this once-popular structure in the Boerne area which, at the time of the drawing, was serving principally to hold up the fence. The round louver is a classic feature."

Once in the backyard I stepped on a sticker bush. I'm barefoot a lot so it didn't hurt, just annoyed me. I shifted my foot 3-4x before I realized there are no sticker bushes in the yard. I lifted my foot & a yellow jacket flew up. If he'd been a cartoon he'd've been shaking his little fist at me.

We don't have anything remotely as interesting, but that comes from having New Amsterdam ancestors. Even our Quaker was a boring Hannah White. Coffin was a seaman captured by Barbary pirates who died in 1787 while he was imprisoned.

Someone at the concert said that was about the only classic they didn't play. I have to admit, Bon Scott's speaking/singing voice made that song, and I sincerely doubt Johnson could pull it off.
