Happy #TermTuesday! 📖👀 Trade books can be found on many university press's lists, as UPs can publish for trade and academic markets. Many UPs have a regional trade list w/ books specific to their geographic location.

Some books might feature a gallery of images rather than having the images spread out through the text. Including a gallery is usually a strategic decision depending on the project, as galleries can affect production costs & affect the reader's navigation of the text. 📖 #TermTuesday 📖

Happy #TermTuesday, folks! Book series are common among presses and play varying roles in their list of publications (depending on the press & the active series they have). Series are a great way to establish niches, revitalize topics, and make space for underrepresented voices.

Happy #TermTuesday, folks! Extended text is used to describe complex figures in addition to alt-text (when needed).

A text box defining the term "Extended Text" (also called long descriptions) as the descriptive counterpart to alt-text as per accessibility standards. Extended text is meant to provide a longer, more detailed description of complex figures when necessary. Unlike alt-text, which has a length limit, extended text can be as long as necessary to explain the figure in detail and its relevance to the manuscript. Extended text does not need to be included in the manuscript if the alt-text sufficiently describes the figure.

Woohoo! Happy Tuesday, it's #TermTuesday! The structure of a press's Faculty Editorial Board can differ from press to press (especially when it comes to consortium presses). Projects published by a press generally should have Editorial Board approval before moving to launch/transmittal.
