Proxygen now lets you manage multiple CA certificates and import new ones in many new formats. This just might come useful these days 😉

Just finished reading Careless People by Sarah Wynn-Williams. I already knew Mark Zuckerberg is a douchebag but now I know the company is filled with others just like him.

What a hockey game in a full-packed Nokia Arena today. This was the first time Jokerit played against Ilves in 12 years. I was a big fan of the Helsinki team in yearly 90s, now wear an Ilves jersey. These are the two teams that mean most to me.

And here I am for real considering getting a serial mouse to play this 3D shooter on the Series 5

I’m now making a little Pixelmator inspired image editor for the Series 5. I have a custom UI library that can draw these panels and some new widgets like sliders. It can handle 8 layers and effects like gaussian blur. It actually runs a bit smoother on the […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

I know this is Mastodon and people who make apps for Apple platforms and like AI get cut off and at best cursed at. But just wanted to say if you want a map app that shows more roads wherever you are then try out Maptrails. Here’s a comparison

What would be a 3D shooter be without grenades, missiles and levitation. And lots of destruction. #psion #psion5mx

Now the real gem. Wii Play’s Tanks game seemed like a good fit for the Psion, with mostly slow paced movement and the aiming translating well to pen input. This game is actually nice. Goes to show what masters Nintendo are at their craft, when […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

The next attempt a third person shooter improved 3D rendering even more. The ~20 fps this plays at looks perfectly smooth on the Series 5 LCD (which is its biggest bottleneck by today’s standards). This is actually a fun game. I just wish I had a mouse […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

So I went on. I wanted to see how good 3D rendering I could do on the Series 5. It was fun to see Claude iterate the fps better little by little. Most of the performance-critical code was written in ARM assembly. I started with this 3D space dogfight game […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

Of course the first thing I had to do was make a coding agent for it. This connects to the Mac over serial link for a headless Claude Code instance (and Internet access). It can generate OPL programs for me, then install and run the compiled OPO executables. It’s super fun!

I began by checking if there were any OS updates available for the Series 5, but of course not. There was really just one OS version that ever existed: the 1.0.1 (145) that’s running also on this one! Let that sink in. They had just one shot to get […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

The Psion EPOC operating system was a precursor to Nokia’s Symbian. To me it always remained the clearer rendition of the vision. At least UI-wise, everything had a clear logic and was very well thought out. The Series 3a had a more pocket calculator vibe […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

These are not the pixel-perfect originals (they were scaled up to fit Series 5’s larger display) but I wrote my own little image editor to draw these graphics as a kid. Had totally forgotten that!

I got @jbmorley’s Reconnect app working with a USB to RS232 adapter and it was really sentimental seeing these OPL programs I wrote as a 11-year-old run on this Series 5. Had Claude port some of the OPL that had changed between Series 3a and 5. Also had it […] [Original post on infosec.exchange]

Another thing I’ve been vibe coding is an iOS app that acts as a HomeKit Camera. It supports two-way audio, alarm, motion capture, and people recognition. Basically all the bells and whistles of the HomeKit Secure Video protocol. Not sure what to do with this one either.

I have been doodling (vibing) with an App Store Connect sales tracker app. It’s getting pretty good although I haven’t really identified its killer feature yet. But I can see it being useful. Not sure if I should release this on the stores or not.

One thing I can’t get exactly right is aligning the side tab bar’s buttons with the system ones. The native sheet presentation somehow handles this but I can’t see a way to do it for custom sheets that have insets from screen edges.

Pasi Salenius @pasi.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gy · 20/09/2026
For example, on the Duo having my custom sheet only dismiss via the close button seemed to have more downsides than benefits, so I finally opted to dismiss by swiping down. In retrospect I should’ve maybe done this earlier. But new UI paradigms always reveal things like this.

Pasi Salenius @pasi.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gy · 19/09/2026
It took almost no effort to get Proxygen support the Duo. It’s all based on native UIKit components with little customization so this mostly just surfaced bugs I had to fix anyway.

Pasi Salenius @pasi.infosec.exchange.ap.brid.gy · 19/09/2026
My custom bottom sheet now supports iOS versions from 15 to 27 including the Duo. It aligns itself correctly at different size classes and has 120hz animations. I prefer using it over the native sheet presentation as it gives me full backwards compatibility and control over its behavior.

Proxygen should just switch to those regular horizontal class UI for the inner display and use the compact one for outer. It’ll all just work.

I don’t want to talk about Liquid Glass. I don’t want to sink myself to that level. But this frickin menu dismiss animation returning to its button for like 3 seconds still drives me insane 😡 It destroys so many otherwise fine UI patterns. With no way around it.
