There had been rumours for weeks that city hall would simply not accept questions while the motion was debated by councillors. The Rover reported this and then had to retract. It seems the mayor found a better way to shut down one side’s participation.

My partner came home from city hall after the vote against apartheid dazed after Montréal Anti-Apartheid folks were largely blocked from entry. The mayor’s alleged tactic was to open registration early to CIJA Zionist allies of the ruling party. They could then declare city hall to be at capacity.
