On Friday night, we walked the length of Manhattan, from Inwood Hill to Battery Park. New Yorkers deserve a Mayor they can see, hear, even yell at. The city is in the streets.

I've literally never seen nor talked to a Cuomo supporter in real life while living in Brooklyn, so can someone tell me what is the consensus response for why they support a sex pest? Do they acknowledge this at all or...?

As for so many across this country, Bernie Sanders has been the single most influential political figure in my life. As Mayor, I will strive to live up to his example by fighting for the working class every day and hopefully make Brooklyn’s own proud.
A graphic of Bernie and Zohran smiling. Text reads “BERNIE ENDORSES ZOHRAN.”

I'm gonna die mad at the fact that we call non-prescription medicine, the kind you can get anywhere in the store, "over the counter." But the medicine that the pharmacist literally has to hand me over a counter? That stuff is we classify as "not available over the counter." Fuck you!!

The problem with praise of DeepSeek is that the efficiency of LLMs is not the sole issue. Outside of some narrow contexts, they lack any meaningful uses that aren't creatively and/or morally bankrupt. Their continued proliferation due to efficiency gains is ultimately a win for this grift

in retrospect the e/acc movement is kind of hilarious. what do you mean we should keep accelerating technology? it’s already accelerating faster than it ever has in human history. e/acc was just a proponent of the status quo

Deeply embarrassing for Khanna and Sanders to indulge DOGE, as if Musk or Trump will ever go after the military state or cut “waste” in some ideologically neutral way. A boilerplate rw attack on the liberal state by two cynical racist liars who will absolutely never do anything remotely progressive

The thing thats useful to note, regardless of where one stands on the current discourse or meta discourse, is that the health insurance industry is fundamentally parasitic—it creates no value, it cures no diseases, it doesnt efficiently allocate resources. it is a wholly superfluous shakedown racket

liberals want their own joe rogan, but the truth is, there's already a left-leaning content creator ecosystem. the dem establishment just chooses to ignore big names like hasan piker in favor of decrepit institutions like msnbc and the new york times aftermath.site/twitch-youtu...
But why aren’t there more influencers with Piker’s size, reach, and most importantly, impact on the left? In part, it comes down to who the Democratic and Republican establishments choose to back.

"Part of the role of folks like myself is to critique power and present ideas on how to wield power more for the benefit of folks like us, working-class people,” Jack “Riverboatjack” Gardener, a trans political streamer, told Aftermath. “That's just not really where the Democratic party has its goals right now. ... I think they are afraid of tapping into something that is too real, the kind of thing that Bernie Sanders tapped into in 2016. They are afraid of activating that base because it kind of ruins their ability to reach out to their big money donors, and they aren't bringing enough to the table on the merits of their own policy to actually back up that kind of shift in how to approach politics and communications."
