I initially put this moth down as a Pale Mottled Willow but some online photos of Clancy's Rustic look quite similar. What's your opinion, @mothiduk.bsky.social or anyone else who has experience with the variability of Clancy's?

Two mystery moths for your help please @mothiduk.bsky.social. Is the first just a very faded Turnip or something more interesting? The second seems like some kind of faded tortricidae but I can't pin it down to anything?

Hawk like bird flying towards me up Middlebere track with a pipit in hot pursuit. I immediately assume cuckoo. But the wingbeats are wrong and there are white flashes in the wing tips. Then it croaks! Nightjar at 9:45am! @harbourbirds.bsky.social

Hi @mothiduk.bsky.social , Another season, more mystery moths! Please can you help with these two. First I wonder if it is a small mottled willow but no brown? Definitely slightly shorter and a lot slimmer than treble lines I caught alongside it. The micro I have no idea! Thanks

Red footed falcon still present at Holt Heath this morning but pretty elusive. Waited all morning for 10 mins of poor flight views. (Others briefly saw it perched). A good selection of other raptors and very showy cuckoo. All birders seemed well behaved! @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social

Went to see the Boyton Marshes young black stork whilst on a family holiday in the area. To say it's tame is an understatement! ( I didn't stalk, I sat on the bank and it decided it wanted to go past)

Great how birding can provide excitement on so many levels. Whilst it's the time of year to look for arriving ospreys and unusual migrants, nothing I see this weekend is going to beat the song thrush which was just hopping round our lawn. First for over a decade! @dorsetbirdclub.bsky.social
