For a long time politicians seemed afraid of even mildly criticising Brexit, perhaps fearing an accompanying ''Enemy of The People'' headline. That Brexit spell has well and truly been broken by Burnham's speech, and the country will be all the better for it.

On Goose Green parade in East Dulwich, a former Papa John's Pizza was replaced by Banook Bagels, upon removing the PJP signage, it revealed the signage of the original drapers M & M Boyes dating back to the late C19th, which they decided to keep. A nice touch in an over-commercialised world! 🥯🥯🥯

There was a time when the BBC's political editor wouldn't run a story unless corroborated with facts. Enter Chris Mason...

Despite the 'No' vote, the door has been left open for a future referendum should circumstances change. Had 'Yes' won, it was proposed that there would be a second referendum on the final deal. Take note UK, this is how a grown-up democracy functions.

Musk, Trump etc are engaged of games of power, not reason. They will say whatever helps them most in the moment and catching them in the most blatant contradiction is as likely to have as little effect on their followers as showing a religious zealot any of the many biblical contradictions.

Whether he happened to break the rules or not, the point _should_ be that a man who wants to be PM knowingly associated with, and took money and favours from, a convicted criminal. That shows poor judgement and ethical standards, far below what we should demand of our politicians.

Excellent thread, always fascinating to read Roland's Brexit insights. Props also for using the term Brexiters not Brexiteers. A reminder that it was a self-anointed romanticised term used by the likes of Mark Francois to give an air of heroic free-trade swashbucklers. They're anything but.

I shall suggest, perhaps bravely, that the quick and relatively painless (so far) transition from a failed PM whose premiership had helped make a Reform government very possible to a different PM who is much better positioned to win the next GE…is a really good and positive thing?
