A Hydra lucky dip I did a few years ago. I am contemplating putting up some of my chimerical creatures as stock art.

A hydra with moose, oppossum, armadllo heads on long necks, three pairs of doe fore limbs, ostich hind legs, a dimetrodon fin and a long tail terminating in both a capyburra AND a thagomiser.

Another marginalia for the Veritable Tales kickstarter by @pidj.bsky.social . This fabulous creature is a Bonacon - A mythic mediaeval beast that fires flaming hot excrement up to miles at its enemies. @pepperraccoon.com - this is the project I referred to on your Mola post recently

Had a lovely time creating some art for @kobanya.bsky.social's Folklore 2024 Game Jam @ kobanya.itch.io/housekeeping & using it as an excuse for exploring and experimenting with early chromalithography methods. Drawing heavily (boom boom) on Kate Greenaway references. Keen to do more in this style.

Running a little late but here I am back with #FatBatWeek extended. This little lad is one of my favourite species – the NZ short-tailed bat, pollinator of the flower of Hades with frybread and a offbrand L&P. @nzbatman.bsky.social @forestandbird.bsky.social @batcon.org

A little brown bat with pointy ears and a cheerful smile is perched on top of golden brown cubes of frybread. The plate the food is stacked on is based on Crown Lynn ware, a kiwi pottery. Behind the place is a parody of L &P, a local lemonade, but with the label change to read FBW in large yellow letters beneath which is fact that week and "batty good stuff 2025 quote on a red banner.
