"What thinkest thou of mine appearance...?" Basically what you see here is what anyone at GWF is going to see, aside from makeup/wig, the last detail at the end of the belt (final clearcoat soon!) and some readjustment to the cowl and robe to make both hang better. ;) (Also his giant "tome"...)

Well... my refs are just screenshots. XD The ones I've got are silvery and... maybe not shorter, but the heads on the keys in the screenshot are HUGE, so they just look smaller. Should be easy enough to make/cast these with resin once I have more time (and mold putty), but NOT HAPPENING THIS WEEK.

Ringbands are clearcoated and being assembled, paint is drying on the last belt detail. Just realized that literally all that's left after those two things is "the pouches and stuff hanging off his belt", which I had already decided not to bother with except MAYBE the keys since they're in front.

Red detailing on the sleeves? Need to go get another can of spraypaint and my body sucks. Running out of to-dos, though..

It's Sage's 8th bunniversary! I don't know most of my buns' birthdays, but 8 years ago I met someone to pick up this little diva and bring her home. She was 4 and a half then, so 12 and a half now... Just picked her favorite treat fresh from the yard, you can see she's still going strong. 💜

So thanks to giving in and getting out the drill, and having finished some detailing last night (note: even during rush jobs, I will ALWAYS take the extra time to "weather" fake metal), belt may be ready to wear tonight! Just the ornamentation at the non-buckle end left after I glue these on.

Forgot to wrap the belt around myself but it wouldn't have stayed very well anyway without a buckle (and yes the mirror should be cleaned)... but other than that, what I've got so far! Not pictured since the goggles are tinted dark red and the shots I got that included the bottom half are blurry -

...which is really hilarious because after the duty Alphinaud was like "nice NPC alt btw" and I was all "Thanks! It's hilarious because no one knows her unless they've finished EW and leveled crafters, but it's great when they do!" ...So this other person has no idea they friended an NPC. :D

Glad I went out on "lunch break" yesterday to get more spraypaint so I could finish spraying the red bits last night, because it rained all day today... but the clearcoat is brush-on and I could do that inside. :D Also formed/sealed the base frame for the goggles, ready for next spraypaint weather.

Better shot of the thing now that it's clearcoated - and also, the paint experiment that I thought was "eh good enough", when tried on the tiny sandal accents in better lighting, turned out to be more like "pretty darned good". (Need metallic orangey-red, used translucent red over metallic gold.)

I bought a package of 1yd leather strap... I think I need a yard and 4 inches. -_- But at least so far what I plotted to make this work is in fact working (clothespins are holding the leather folded till the adhesive dries).

Honestly this bit shouldn't work according to the laws of physics unless the hood is secretly stiff as an armored helm, but I'm doing my best. -_- The straps are just kinda... there... for decoration or something. Definitely not holding it on his head, for obvious reasons...

Ah yes. Before I got wigged out by the cat, treats for the buns. I happened to see a late-blooming dandelion in the yard as I was pulling into the driveway earlier, and that had to go to Sage. In a few days, it'll be 8 years ago she came to live with me - and she was already 4 and a half.

Went out to pick some treats from the yard for my buns, and when I came back to my side porch, there was a cat sitting on it that looks... exactly like my Baxter, who I had to say goodbye to a couple of years ago due to advanced renal failure. Aaaaaalmost finished with the painting and detailing, should be able to start applying layers of clearcoat tonight. :D Which should make the resin lenses go from "frosted glass" to just "glass" - resin reacts so well to clearcoat. (May have just bought a box of tiny screws while I was at the store)

Oh yessssssssss, I should be able to get SO MUCH priming and painting underway this weekend and between work tasks next week. :D Unfortunately none of the spraypaint experiments came out as well as I was hoping, though one result was "not too bad", so debating hand-painting all that trim. -_-

Verily, 'tis an adequate beginning. :) There was a time when I was just starting out I would've been really proud and gone to a con just with this. Since then I've learned all kinds of detailing techniques - we'll see how much I can get done in the next couple weeks...

Also fun while I'm taking close-up detail shots: according to my calculations I'm going to need 24 of those little squares just for the edge of his cowl (and is that a book in the bit in the center of the back? :D). Still more for the hem of the robe and the sleeves... glad I started casting early.
