So how will this play out for the review of NBP, where will they find new money? Aside from rate increases, where does new money come from? example: The expense of the panel (3ppl X $175K + HST = $603 750) will be picked up this year by the Dept of Energy, a non budgeted expense, & how 1/2

This so-called independent review is costing taxpayers upwards of $600,000 a year, money that’s going to cover compensation, travel expenses, and taxes for three handpicked panelists. The Recent independent audit on rising electricity costs and meters resulted in no new information. cost? 3/3

And let’s not forget, that person got paid for sitting on NB Power’s board. NB Power signs those cheques, which means their connection is financial. This has happened before. Year after year, the party in power, the red or the blue, appoints insiders to handle big decisions behind closed doors.2/3

Appointing an “independent” panel to review NB Power ? Hardly independent if in fact one of the three appointed “experts” previously sat on NB Power’s board. This is someone who already helped shape the system. It's a direct conflict of interest, and New Brunswicker's deserve better....and 1/3
