If you learn about what long covid is and pay attention to the people around you, you're going to see people fully recover from the acute infection but develop textbook symptoms in the weeks-months following "the flu" and not put two and two together. Each infection raises the risk.

Is COVID surging in Ontario? I think it is. Wastewater surveillance lags about 2 weeks (which yes, mostly defeats its purpose). It reads as low/moderate. But in other jurisdictions around us it's surging. Anecdotally, I see a big bump in infections among people I know, just in the last week. 1/4

Anyone ever think of mandatory masking? 🤦🏻‍♀️ "Everyone that works or receives care at our hospital is required to wear a mask while on the outbreak unit. Masks are also encouraged but not required while in other areas of the hospital."

- Health Canada

School starting again soon. Everyone will be at increased risk all over again. Some good news: Here in New Brunswick I was successful recently in getting our local school district to approve parents being allowed to donate HEPA machines for classrooms. A first in Canada as far as I am aware!
