Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

A real successful 1A day here on campus. Heavy hitters. Big student turnout. Engaged questions. My notes for the academic freedom panel is a sort of Cliff Notes of how I approach this thing. This is it. My whole talk.
Notes app reads: Neoliberalism weaponizes bias to justify austerity. Austerity creates corporate universities. Corporate universities are unhealthy organizations. Unhealthy organizations cannot inculcate or defend academic freedom. Without academic freedom to check administrative power, corporate universities will translate austerity into financialized predation. Predation undermines public trust in higher education. Death spiral accelerates.

ironically enough a NC man was also once at the center of the Napster case that, in many ways, set us on the course for today’s techno infrastructure Also, it’s wild to punish one man and it’s this guy and not, like, Elon Musk or Mark Zuckerberg.

I get why people think so much of the grandiose statements from LLM world are a grift (because everything is these days). But I think it's equally possible everyone there actually believes every word of it because they, like members of a cult, have simply gone insane.
