That’s what people said about sports going to cable. There are those who will be left behind because they are stubborn or don’t know how to work the new way to watch. But just like the last big move, most will adapt & it will be catered to a younger generation and the sport will continue to grow.

ESPN won’t let you watch free ABC games on their app unless you are subscribed to ESPN or have a provider login. I live far enough out that I can’t get antenna TV. So I have to choose what to get. Sucks but it is not much different than when sports moved from free tv to cable. Similar complaints.

I get the frustration. Not wanting to change is normal. But this is a world that is moving past cable TV. Ironically this is a move towards appealing to the kids. Choices have to be made. And leagues are choosing to go away from cable TV.

More households have access to Prime than do to ESPN. Especially among younger American. It’s a proactive move to not only grow the game but expand the audience. ESPN is only sports, Prime has material for the whole family plus sports.

That is sad to hear & unfortunate. I’ve had out of control Crohn’s for a little over the last decade. Finally was able to get it mostly controlled only to be diagnosed with AS this past spring. It really sucks but also a bit of a relief knowing that we can finally address the problem.

A lot of people have NBC, Peacock, and/or Prime don’t have ESPN. Adding watching options & making the games more accessible are likely behind the increase in numbers. Phoenix put Suns games on over-air free broadcast TV & their ratings soared! Having choices of broadcast crews doesn’t hurt either!
