Ally!! 😳😳😳😳
Quote from The Spectator by Rod Liddle

“This is local. Conservatives are mourning the death of a pet hack, one 'Rod Liddle'
In 2012 in the Spectator he wrote this:
"I seriously contemplated being a teacher once upon a time when I was a lot younger. It seemed to me an agreeable doss, and one didn't have to be too bright or too ambitious or possess any great quality of knowledge... I never found out because the one thing stopping me from being a teacher was that I could not remotely conceive of not trying to shag the kids.
It seemed to me virtually impossible not to, and I was convinced that I'd be right in there, on day one. We're talking secondary school level here, by the way - and even then I don't think I'd have dabbled much below year ten, as it is now called."”Quote from Rod Liddle
“How absurd the law is. But at least it is an appropriate reflection of our collective neurosis and confusion about paedophilia generally. The one laudable and necessary aim - to protect children from abuse - has become warped by our consuming, obsessive hatred for those who find children sexually attractive. There is no causal link between viewing child porn and abusing children. And even if there were, it would not be sufficient, within the philosophy of our judicial system, to simply assume that an unpleasant penchant for the former presupposes guilt of the latter.”

Tweet from Robert Smith on the World Cup half time show:

“Robert Smith Tells FIFA to 'Just F--- Off'
'The half-time show, which has been curated by Coldplay's Chris Martin, will feature Madonna, Justin Bieber,
Shakira and the K-pop boyband BTS. Fifa's president, Gianni Infantosser, has described the halftime show as 'groundbreaking spectacle' that will
'celebrate football, music and our shared values, ensuring a legacy that transcends the final whistle' AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH..." Smith wrote. His post was accompanied by the hashtags: "Bread and circuses" "MUGWANK" and "please just f— off."Follow up from Robert Smith on the Workd Cup final

“"For those of us not quite getting it: the point is not really about who is curating or performing, it is about the #mugwank idea of a football world cup final half time show," the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer wrote.
Smith was also upset by the involvement of President Donald Trump, who is set to attend the game.
"If you now understand my 'aaaaaaagh!' a bit better, but still don't agree, please adjust your red cap, your
1 Janny + Donny + $$$' tshirt and... knock yourself out?" he declared. "Infantosser has said he
and US President Trumpton will small hand over trophy on Sunday'. Sadly, there are not enough A's left for the 'argh' that should follow."

Does Nigel #Farage and #Reform party represent good value to the people of #Clacton ?

Here’s a Bluesky-friendly version that’s concise while still conveying the main message:

Alt text: Infographic comparing estimated working time of UK party leaders (July 2024–July 2026). Rows show Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch, Ed Davey, Adrian Ramsay, Stephen Flynn, Rhun ap Iorwerth, Doug Beattie and Nigel Farage. Columns compare parliamentary work, constituency work, media activity, outside paid work, voting participation and notes. Most leaders show no significant declared outside employment and spend most of their time on parliamentary and constituency duties. Adrian Ramsay has the highest voting participation (about 80%+). Farage has the lowest voting participation among major party leaders (about 31%), the highest media activity and the highest declared outside earnings. Notes explain that voting is the only official comparable metric, time allocations are estimates, and separate investigations into alleged undeclared gifts/benefits are not included in the earnings comparison and had not been concluded at the time shown.

Does Nigel #Farage and #Reform party represent good value to the people of #Clacton ?
Infographic comparing Nigel Farage’s parliamentary activity with a typical UK MP (July 2024–July 2026). Measures include voting participation, Commons speeches, written questions, committee and APPG membership, constituency surgeries, outside earnings, outside working time, foreign trips, media appearances and financial investigations. Farage scores well below average for voting (31.5%), speeches, questions, committee work and constituency surgeries, has no published constituency casework figures, and is exceptionally above average for declared outside earnings, outside working time, media appearances and US trips. The graphic notes that voting is the only official comparable metric, other comparisons are estimates from public records, and that investigations into alleged undeclared gifts and benefits are ongoing with no findings of wrongdoing at the time shown.

It’s a table of estimates. But it’s a table. Its use is partly dependent on what value you attach to each metric. For instance it’s entirely possible that #Farage has brought joy to #Clacton and ended multiple international conflicts in the space of an hour’s meeting. #Reform

Here’s a maths question. It’s just a question of counting. How many people sustained multiple knife injuries in the sickening, appalling and contemptible attack by Essa Suleiman last week? And what do the victims have in common?
BBC summary report stating:

“• Essa Suleiman has been charged with attempted murder after two Jewish men were stabbed in Golders Green
• The 45-year-old is accused of attacking Shloime Rand, 34, and Moshe Shine, 76, in north London on Wednesday”

Excerpt from Swallows & Amazons by Arthur Ransome:

“John took the telegram. Titty scrambled up and came, running. Susan held the knife with the marmalade on it over the bread so as not to lose any, but stopped spreading. John opened the envelope, and took out the white paper.
"Read it aloud," said Susan.
John read:
BETTER DROWNED THAN DUFFERS IF NOT DUFFERS WONT DROWN.
"Hurrah for daddy!" he shouted.
"What does it mean?" asked Susan.
"It means Yes," said Titty.
"It means that daddy thinks we shall none of us get drowned and that if any of us do get drowned it's a good riddance," said
John.
"But what are duffers if not duffers?" asked Susan.
"It doesn't say that," said Titty. "It says that if we were duffers we might as well be drowned. Then it stops and starts again, and says that as we aren't duffers..."
"If," said John.
"If we aren't duffers we shan't be drowned."
"Daddy put that in to comfort mother," said Susan. She went on spreading the marmalade.”

It’s what we were saying nine months ago; “the grown-ups” may be “in charge”, but it turns out they are unimaginative, unaware, and worse; cruel. People learn through narrative and #Starmer doesn’t understand the importance of story; under #Keir there is no path to national redemption. #Labour
Exerpt from Guardian comment article saying:

“The prime minister seems like a politician suited to managing decline, rather than overcoming it. Rather than offer a transformative vision, he aims to stabilise a reeling country after a decade of tumult. He is not a Thatcher or Attlee. His gamble is that, in a chaotic time, people do not want a charismatic leader; just someone who won't make it worse. But his year in office has been marked by churn with little direction. By avoiding Labour values, he dulls the party's voice on justice and solidarity. Under Sir Keir, Labour has consistently misread where its electoral threats lie. While it obsesses over the radical right, the left is regrouping, young voters are alienated and Muslim support is fracturing. If a charismatic leftwing rival emerges, Labour's electoral coalition could be seriously damaged.”

I think you’re not being at all consistent. You unequivocally equate the IDF with the Jewish people here. If it is antisemitic to chant “death to the IDF” (it isn’t) then it is reasonable to hold the Jewish people responsible for their actions (it absolutely isn’t!). You can’t have it both ways.
Hugo Rifkind writing in The Times:

“The first thing to say about this is that it was, unequivocally, antisemitic. Had it been, say, an American army bombing somewhere into dust, I'm confident even that audience would have felt wishing them all dead would have been a tad strong. Even "death to Isis" would probably be a bridge too far. But Israeli Jews? These days, fine. See also a crowd at a music festival giving no thought to the way this war began with a slaughter at another music festival. You'd think some feeling of solidarity would be inevitable.
But apparently not.”
