Why Niger explicitly criminalising asexuality is significant to everyone, regardless of identity
To understand Nigers asexuality criminalisation, we should see this law as part of a bigger – and growing – global trend among conservatives about 'traditional families'

Fact that the language of assimilation has been re-centered in immigration discourse with some pro-immigration arguments insisting the students targeted by Bo French really *had* assimilated also speaks to the way aspirational whiteness is now a background assumption in these conversations.

Then his only conception of South Asian people is the distorted minority who aspire to whiteness, and his solution for those fools is to bring back Exclusion Act-era thinking. Just as Rufo wanted. The author and/or editor clearly understand that they're stating a claim on what feudalism is or isn't rather than using a dictionary definition, because they hedge with "a form of" instead of letting the claim sail through without distancing themselves from it. So why print the claim at all?

What a lie. Some of these people are being imprisoned indefinitely in squalid condition in African prisons. Others report being beaten and arbitrarily deported in violation of international law back to their home countries, where they face persecution or torture.
The indefinite nature of their confinement has taken a severe toll. In October 2025, a Cuban man who was on the July flight went on a hunger strike for a month-until he started showing signs of organ failure —to protest the conditions of his detention, including his ongoing confinement and lack of access to legal counsel.
Terrified of being imprisoned in Eswatini forever, another man repeatedly told his attorney that the prison there never lets people go. One man told his attorney that he feels like a caged animal with no end in sight. The prison does not have air conditioning, making the hot, humid summer months especially uncomfortable for the men.
Food is insufficient, medication is scarce, and requests often go unmet or are belatedly met.

DHS is simply buying local cops’ support with our tax dollars. Like I’ve been saying, they own a lot of these cops. www.wsj.com/us-news/immi...
Even if Boring's deputies don't take any others into custody, his department is eligible for a payment equal to more than a quarter of its annual budget. Those are the terms of a Department of Homeland Security task force program that enlists local police as paid partners in the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.
Jurisdictions similar to Doddridge County-sparsely populated with few immigrants-make up the majority of new recruits to the
DHS task force program, which has become a cash cow for state and local law enforcement agencies nationwide. After turning over a single deportable immigrant, departments qualify to receive $60,000 a year for each deputized officer, regardless of additional arrests. The Venice Police Department in Venice, Fla., tallied one federal immigration detention in September 2025 and has since requested a total of $895,000. The department can continue collecting funds every quarter as long as it remains on the task force.
The program is most profitable for large departments. The Miami-Dade Sheriff's Office in Florida signed up more than 970 deputies, making it eligible for roughly $14.5 million in DHS funds from April to June, state records show. That pencils out to more than $2 million for each of its seven immigration arrests in that quarter.
