I still have my original Dan Dare disk, and I want to say it's one I managed to beat back in the day. Definitely beatable. I had no idea about any of the lore going into it, but I did love it when you get to disguise yourself as a Treen and move about freely for a bit.

The best Tom Clancy game is Red Storm Rising, no contest. One of the handful of C64 games I've completed. Long load times, but there is an EasyFlash. I don’t think I would personally ever put Captain Alex in the so-bad-it’s-good category. It’s unironically more enjoyable than any Hollywood blockbuster of the last 30 years. Refreshingly, it doesn’t have a self-important bone in its body. Plus it marks the creation of a new genre.
