Well, it's been a hot minute since I posted 😅 I took some time out to get married to the love of my life 🥰 Followed by a busy but fun Summer. Starting to get back to personal projects and drawing again, and I'm loving Draw Brighton's portrait sessions at The Open House Pub for getting loosened up ✏️

Finally, I wanted to try animating one of my oil pastel sketches. I'm really pleased with how this last one turned out! 🥰 🏰 It was great getting back into oil pastels for this project, and I'm definitely eager to revisit them in the future. Sound by RTB45 on freesound 'Belize - Jungle at Night'.

most people don't want politics that hurt other people. we just want a long overcoat like david bowie and affordable housing

For this one, I wanted to push the idea that it could be a game background, hence adding the bridge and the stepping stones. 🌴🌿💧 Which path would you take?

OMG, that is like my dream compliment - thank you!!! 😄 I was kind of holding those types of backgrounds in my head when I was making these! If it gives even an ounce of that vibe, I'm very happy! 🙏

Initiation Well at Quinta Da Regaleira! This was such an awesome place 🤩 I can easily imagine strange rituals and ceremonies taking place here. It had a magical atmosphere. I definitely recommend a visit ✨🔮 I'd love to see a little, animated character running down from top to bottom in this one! 🏃‍♀️

For the next few experiments, I wanted to try moving into more of a 16:9 format so I could really imagine them as backgrounds for a mobile game or an animation. 👀 I enjoyed working on the water and reflections in this one! 🌊

The structures dotted around the beautiful gardens at Quinta Da Regaleira in Sintra are so magical and inspiring 😍🧚For this oil pastel experiment, I just wanted to have some fun and get lost in the drawing. I really like how the trees at the top turned out.

This is so beautiful! I love the perspective 💚

Alice Parsons @owlstation.bsky.social · 02/10/2025

Here, I wanted to play with the amount of detail to include in the Palace in the background. I was trying to imagine a game character running across the scene from the foreground to the back, and therefore didn't want the background to be overly detailed.🏰 Not my finest, but a fun experiment! 🧪😄
