Rufio is the most tragic character in Hook. Took care of those kids. Loved Peter, looked up to him, then his hero comes back and he’s everything he said he would never be and tries to take over the whole group. Watched as his tribe turns on him. Eventually accepts it and dies defending them.

I mostly use lightbox as a way to collect artist business cards and stuff, so I can see who is making what kinds of things. I've used artists I've found at events like this to do concept art for pitches or to be on shows I've made. It's a great way to find new and interesting people!

Seeing every small business, be it a local restaurant, a moving company, whatever, all having AI logos and AI ads, really puts into perspective just how many artists are out of jobs now. All those little sustaining jobs where someone just needed a quick thing for $50 to $200 are just gone.

I enjoy reading, but 1) I’m kinda slow 2) it takes awhile for me to concentrate on it 3) I’ve read before bed so much that I think I’ve trained my body to start feeling sleepy after reading. So whenever I have to read for work now I just start getting more and more sleepy and that is not helpful.

Absolutely! I also remember a real cool DVD extra on some version of die hard where they let you re-edit a scene. You could reorder what happened when, take out shots, add in others. It was really cool.

It's actually good when you cut stuff out of a movie. Most of the job in the editing bay is figuring out how much stuff you can get rid of while still keeping the story, good pacing, and good tone. It's fun, it feels like a magic trick!

I don't understand why this is a difficult problem and tough to figure out. There are many options: 1) Have an overall rule placed above all the programming that says "don't break into banks" etc 2) Don't let it connect to the internet 3) Unplug it 4) Stop making software that destroys the world

The craziest part of ticking clocks is I've never ever seen an audience say that they wished there was a ticking clock, nor that they wished there WASN'T a ticking clock. It's only used by people who give notes to screenwriters because they feel like they have to give a note. No one else cares.

"Ticking clocks" are the worst thing to get added to movies from the past 15 years. No more "If I don't fix this 2 hours, the whole world is doomed!" What we're looking for is external pressure. An outside force pushing an internal change in a character. That's it. No more countdown clocks please.

Scanners III: The Takeover The best scanners movie? On pure "I'm enjoying this moment and not bored in any way" value it has the most highs and the fewest lows. The first Scanners movie is fantastic, but III is at minimum equal to it and possibly surpasses. I'll have to sit with this for awhile.
