Let's just say my opinion about Generative AI isn't exactly... favorable

A question on the Patreon survey regarding AI

Question: (Optional) Is there anything else you want to share about your views on AI?

My answer: Generative AI is garbage, unethical, and a disaster for the environment. Anyone using it is not a real creator and are literally damaging their brain. If you can't be bothered making art yourself, why should anyone bother interacting with it? Even suggesting bringing AI to a creative platform like Patreon is completely unhinged, and honestly, if you do implement Generative AI, you may as well just shut it all down.

These two posts sum up the issue of misinformation in the age of social media and hyper-partisan politics pretty well. There comes a point when posting false content doesn't even matter, so long as it confirms your worldview and elicits the approval of your side.

How to filter out AI Images in Google Image Search. Sharing this with my students so I figured I'd also share it with everyone here. Hopefully this image is still relevant given Google's changes. Save this on your computer or phone and refer to it as needed.

HOW TO FILTER OUT AI IMAGES IN GOOGLE IMAGES

When you type something add the following minus keywords: -ai, -prompt

Since AI movement increased highly in 2022, use "before:" like before:2021 (VERY effective)

The following keywords will affect and should decrease amounts of AI imagery appearing on your search.

Create, not scrape!

i found myself scrolling through an AI 'artist's gallery on dA yesterday, assuming it was some sort of bot, and i scrolled down far enough to see LOADS of posts before 2022 that were their own, actual drawn pieces and i wanted to cry.
