Level-5 century of humiliation oh my GOD

An answer from @/Lizard_yyy's interview with Matt Matoba, a graphic designer who previously worked at Level-5 Abby, regarding a question as to why the branch shut down.

"No one reason caused it to shutdown, outside of fucking up too bad.

The first reason was severe mismanagement of YKW. I’d like to point to one very specific reason, which is L5 removing Nintendo as a producer on YKW after the series’ release. In this moment, I no longer remember if it was after 1 or after 2, but it should be a matter of public record.

Nintendo asked for a large portion of YKW’s profits in return for publishing the game, a typical set up for this sort of thing. In short, it meant that Nintendo helped advertise the game in return for a cut. L5 felt they, uh, wanted more, so they axed Nintendo. (To be specific, they thought the cut was too big.)"

It's heartbreaking to see Level-5 go all in on using AI for their games, including Yo-kai Watch. These games mean so much to me and if it wasn't for this series I wouldn't have met so many amazing people online. Please, if you haven't, GIVE THESE GAMES A CHANCE. They deserve so much better.

Why does bro hate dragons #MyArt

A drawing of Spyro and Ripto (Spyro The Dragon); Spyro is standing atop Ripto's back, looming down on him with a smirk; Ripto is looking back up at him, seething !

genuinely saddening to see how much level-5 ruins everything.,,

a twitter poll asking about if people are still interested in purchasing the yo-kai watch 2 remake, with 26.6% saying yes, 18.7% saying maybe, 25.1% saying no, and 29.6% saying they need to see more first

I need to remind everyone, especially after their presentation today. Level-5 has been very openly using Generative AI in their game development and are proud of it. This includes their newly announced titles such as New World of Steam, Yo-Kai Watch 2 and Curious Village Remake.

I have made lots of changes to the Nintendo 3DS Central server, such as the addition of more 3DS series, channels for exchanging 3DS friend codes and sharing deals on shopping sites, and on-boarding to allow for you to choose which channels you want to see, check it out!!
