Whenever I'm working a release, I always hop in as soon as we go live for post release verification testing. Normally, I load in solo to Perimeter on a free kit, since I'm not REALLY playing and may have to bail if there's an issue. That said, my first run of the Oct Refresh was surprisingly great!

The Loadout tab of Marathon's PGCR. Notably, it shows a WSTR shotgun, purple and blue salvage, some green salvage, a few green mods, and a few valuables.

Shout out to the friendly runner I met on Night Marsh who was trying to hit 1M credits before tomorrow's wipe. I don't think I was able to help too much and the key room we opened together was awful, but it was really nice to make a friend on Tau Ceti! I really hope he hits that 1M!

This year, the kid is into marine biology. He particularly loves sharks, so he and my wife made shark cupcakes for his party this year. The dorsal fins are white chocolate, colored gray, which is much harder to do than we expected. And when you bite into them, there’s a strawberry sauce surprise. 😉

Knowing that I would be working on releasing one of the last patches on Bungie Day, I figured that would be a great time for me to post one... ...but the state of the industry makes it tough.

I mean, if I played the first level of Halo, saved to a memory card, then went over to a friend’s house, we could pop that card in and play level two coop. I guess the best way to put it is save files weren’t associated with a particular account - you just picked the file you wanted to load.

To clarify, as far as I know, there isn’t a way on any console to transfer saves between accounts. Back in the original Xbox and 360 era, you just had your save on a memory card and the game would load that, regardless of what account.

But now, 17 years later, if I lost my Xbox account, I’d also lose dozens of games and DLC that I’ve bought digitally over the years. Plus cloud saves, my friends list, etc etc. It was relatively easy to replace an account in 2009. Not so much these days.

Like buying a game digitally or buying DLC. When my account got corrupted, I didn’t even own a 360 yet. Original Xbox games were only on discs and this predated cloud saves. Put differently, all I lost with that corrupted account were achievements and the Halo Reach beta avatar shirt.
