This year for Ottober I am creating all my prompts with alcohol markers, I medium I very seldom use! October 10th prompt for #ottober2026 is Patchwork! I used Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas as a very general reference to create this shirt-dress-thing...not too shabby!

A month-long art prompt challenge created by me with a new prompt every 3 days for the month of October.
Prompt #4 was Patchwork. Features a long dress/shirt-like piece of clothing half hanging over a counter of some kind with a tiled top and uneven sides. The shirt itself is a conglomeration of various patches stitched together, each patch a different “color” than the ones attached to it. In the center of the clothing piece is a river otter, also formed by multiple colored “patches” of cloth stitched together.

For me the problem is I have way too many existing characters and cannot find the time to draw art of them all and stuff like I want! But I feel ya.

Everyone has their capabilities and limits, I get it, but agreed that you shouldn't dissuade people from using paid software as opposed to free software completely. Everyone has their preference, each program serves the purpose it needs to.

I used to use Krita for years for my digital projects, and I was quite content with it as a free program. Then I switched to Clip Studio Paint SPECIFICALLY for my comic project. I got it during one of its many sale periods, and only needed to pay once. Best. Investment. Ever.

A month-long art prompt challenge created by me with a new prompt every 3 days for the month of October.
Prompt #3 was Bramble. Features a tangle of somewhat spiky branches with spiky-edged leaves and berries sprouting from them. Behind all the branches and their growths is a partial otter head as it looks down at the branches with a worried look. The remaining background is dark, and some branches and leaves above the otter head spell out “Ottober 7th Bramble”.

Traditional, pen and alcohol marker
A month-long art prompt challenge created by me with a new prompt every 3 days for the month of October.
Prompt #2 was Orbit. Features a dark space landscape with 4-pointed stars of various sizes dotting the sky. In the center-right section is a large planet with land and ocean spaces, clearly differentiating it from the planet Earth. A lighter orbit-like ring floats around the center of the planet, and in front of the planet is a small satellite in the shape of an elongated otter head, put together by randomized metal plates.

Bumble shark with bonus wooden standee 🐝 #art

I am still super proud of this #timelapse. Based on the game #RDR2, I created my own wallpaper piece with less than 10 colors, but it still took me some hours to actually color because I had to put a lot of care and patience into how I colored!
