The AV City Council refused to approve a state mandated traffic study by licensed engineers to avoid reducing some speed limits by 5 mph. This was an embarrassing display of a mortgage broker (Councilman Dwyer) attacking a team of professionals because his opinion is as good as their knowledge. 😮‍💨

I fear we will see three classes emerge. The rich who pass their wealth between each other in a grotesque circle jerk. The “lucky” working poor who find service jobs fulfilling the whims of the rich. The rest will live a life of bare subsistence until climate change makes it impossible to eat.

You know why Aliso Viejo doesn’t do this? Aside from the lack of will from our City Council, Aliso Viejo has no police department. We contract with the county to provide law enforcement services. This means that Deputies are “accountable” to the county Sheriff, not the people of Aliso Viejo.
